Palm IIIx logger software options

i bought this thing under the impression that i could use it to log. it comes with OS 3.1 and can upgrade to 3.3. MMCD and Palm 'n stien say you need OS 3.5 (which i can't install) but Pocketlogger.com says the PalmIIIx is compatible (as well as lesser versions) is this unique to their software? can i use another reputable logger software without paying an arm and a leg? i already have a logger cable to use so Pocketlogger.com is pretty much a waste of money. what can i do?

27 views and no one has any idea on what i can do? this sucks. i have everything i need to log and start tuning, but i can't use it. PLEASE HELP!

apparently there is no solution to my query. no one has replied and PalmOne tells me that the Palm IIIx cannot upgrade to OS 3.5. i guess if you don't have digital tunings Pocket logger software, you're SOL. if anyone can give me a copy of their software (not sure if it works on multiple palms or with 3rd party cables) that would be great so i don't have to buy a different Palm unit.

did you try downloading new softwear from palmone.com? the new palm desktop can update your palm to OS 4.1 which is what is on my friends palmIII. MMCD is installed on it hes just having the problem with an ECU comm error.

i've decided, the hell with it. i have a new Palm m105 coming from UPS today. i got it cheaper than the Palm IIIx. I paid $55 for it from Kingpda.com. if the product is quality i might post with a positive vendor experience. thanks for everyone's input. i think the III series is not ideal for logging and people should stay away from it for such a purpose.

i have a palm IIIc running OS version 4.1. it works just fine. i have mmcd and pocketlogger.
