First off I don't even know what title to put for this thread.
Okay! Some random moments when I pop my hood I will hear a popcorn noise coming from god know where. I try to pin point it and sounds like it's coming from the back of the manifold engine block area.
The noise is hard to describe. It just sounds like popcorn popping back there. It's not to loud nor to soft either. I know it's not oil or radiator fluid boiling. I've experience that before.
It happens random, when the car is cold or after the car is warm from driving BUT only when the engine is off. I tried to take a video but my phone is really out of date(2003 samsung)

On another note, if it still comes back, boost97gst brings up an interesting point about the AC as I can attest to that as well. Didn't happen on a vehicle but my room's AC exploded on me after making a popcorn noise as well.

You know it makes sense, when I turn on my A/C... my car looses hella power. Like it's cut 1/3 of it's power. I know on a good running car, when you turn on the a/c, you'll feel it take some power. But when my a/c comes on car will struggle to go, BIG TIME.

You also have a lightened flywheel. It'll drop the RPMs more than one that has a stock flywheel.

Mine exploded because I changed out the plug to a non breaker type. It kept tripping the circuit breaker on the old plug. Stupid I know but when it's dead ass middle of summer at night around here, it gets unbearable. I'm guessing it's a clog in the system.

I had this problem on a new complete exhaust recently installed on a 92 integra. The problem was the hanger welds were cheap and not very thick. I hit the weld with a hammer while it was doing the pop corn/tic noise until it went away. problem solved at least for now. every once in a while I can hear a tic but its far less frequent.
