i wana buy polyurethane motor mounts because they be a less stiff than strait metal for my gs-t but every where i search i keep getting inserts only and i rather get the hole thing...any one know where i can find them or is it just as good to get the inserts and save my money?

Yea, I think you're going to have to get the inserts, I've never seen complete mounts for our cars with the poly.

The poly mounts are very close to being solid. I put them in my daily driver and the vibration is definitely noticeable. The large side motor mounts completely replace the factory rubber with big chunks of polyurethane. The small front and rear mounts are what I would call an insert. If you want to feel your engine try out the poly!

I'm not sure on how the 2g's are, but the front/back rollstops are just inserts. The two side mounts have to be cut out and press the poly's in. It was a fairly straight-forward install.

I agree, my poly mounts came the same way. They are great. I can feel the vibs from them.LOL. Its not as bad as people say. If I had a chance to do it again. I BUY THEM AGAIN. Great Product for the money. Put the power where you need it. THE WHEELS AND GONE!!!!!!

^^^that is right, both 1g and 2g, only the roll stop mount has inserts, they have the full kit at dsmparts.com . the rest are full poly where you either melt out (like i did) or press out the original mounts. with my 1g mounts ther was still an inner ring that was inside of the mount itself that i also had to get out in order to get the poly bushing in. i looooove the feel of it with the dash vibrating and all that stuff. but i noticed with my gsx that has all orginal mounts if you pushed on the motor you could move it, with the vr4 when i only had the front roll stop inserts in and the rear full poly mount in when i went to try and move the motor i ended up rocking the car on jack stands!!!!

I had a local shop do mine. So I don't have hands on installing them. I was working 4 jobs back then.LOL. Young and wanted money, plus college.LOL. Anyway, They are a great buy. though Energy Suspsenion is selling nice mounts. Im working on buying my subframe and all the other inserts. for the undercar. Not needed, but a WANT

It'll be an odd feeling when you go from stock to these mounts. If you add in a BSE kit with it, you won't recognize your car at all. I know when mine is idling, it's the most noticeable but once you get to about 2000 RPMs, it evens out to a nice subtle vibration.

d

I agree. hit 60 and the vib stops.LOL. But I really don't notice that much. After about 2weeks. but at idle, it is like a beast being chaind wanting to come out and PLAY

I got my installed by a friend, and the old ones removed, they look great. Even had the mount
powdercoateed. Cant wait to get it back on the road.

You'll love the way it feels. Whoever thought of eliminating vibrations in such cars as ourselves are retarded. If people can't handle such vibrations they shouldn't even be driving DSM's. Go back to your Hondas. I love the way it feels whenever I turn it on. It feels like there's so much power waiting to be released.

Thats what I was just saying. A beast wanting to run free.LOL. Add some cams and you got a monster purring.LOL. Most people get the vib from when they take off the Balance shaft belt while putting the mounts in. They don't pull the left shaft out. it spins and vibs the heck out of our cars. But give it two weeks and you wont know. Your car rumbling at a light next to a vette get a second look and a smile.LOL. People may make smart-A remarks about it, like a back massage but take them for a drive and they will be talking about the power. Don't let the vib get you done. And no need for bad langague such as H*O*N*D*A.LOL. but yeah, I love the feelings. I completly agree with CRIMSONDRAGON. It will show off power at idle. Smooth on the FLY

Amen brother.

I bought that same kit for $35. Call me retarded, but where the hell do the things in the plastic sealed containers go? Or how are they installed?

I forgot what kind of material but, people fill the stock motor and tranny mounts with this semi-liquid stuff simular to black silicone. They fill it and it hardens and they say it is as good as the poly mounts and way more cheaper.

I was going to do that when I had my transmission out but..I forgot. HA. I say try that.

It's window weld and you cut off pieces of a cutting board and insert them as well. Then you use the window weld to fill it.

I was going to do this, but I got a really good deal on my prothane kit. :thumb:

If your talking about the funny shaped inserts they go in the Torque Positions (front and back). You have to use the original factory mounts, not the cheapys from like AutoZone. You have to press them in, they should pop in pretty tight, and it should come with two big gold washers, they go in the front as well..

I'm speaking on behalf of personal experience. I actually used construction polyurethane instead of window weld. That stuff is amazing. My front mount is rock solid. I put on my Prothanes, then filled the interior with the stuff.

I have them and definatly recomend them. I cut mine out because I dont have access to a press. The engine doesnt move at all, and it's a little difficult to see out the rear and side view mirrors,LOL.
