I was wondering what the consesus was on the polymer intake gasket. I accdentally bought one and am debating on whether or not I should use it. What kind of boost will it hold? Also what is the best way to make sure you get a good seal? I tried searching but only found one article on this. Thanks

I personally used one and yeah they keep heat down on the IM alot, but at the cost of not making a great seal especially on a boosted DSM. The material they use can be tightened down and is able to flex when tightening too much. Unless you get one that is of the highest of quality of gasket such as the one magnus sells. OEM all the way :hellyeah:

If you plan to use anti-lag, then you need to make sure you block off the EGR port on the backside of the head. Either weld it shut of tap and plug the port. Otherwise it will melt and blow out that gasket.

They seem to work well on 1G heads, but I'm not fond of the 2G gasket. The area around the ports on the 2G gasket is lacking sufficient material to keep it from deforming. I've seen this several times with the 2G gasket, but when the manifold is torqued to the head, the gasket pushes into the port causing a obstruction.
