You might be better off with a 1:1 fuel pressure regulator. Stock injectors and stock pump won't cut it. Maybe a walbro 190 and some injectors from a 2.0 turbo to begin with.

You'll need an AFC to control it as well.

Why would you turbo a 1.8L? For the amount your gonna spend buy a crate 2.0 that already has a turbo.

Maybe because he wants a non-interference engine.

Maybe because he loves his car.

Maybe because he wants to be different.

Why would you think you have the right to question him for doing what he wants to do? Your post did not add or help the thread in the least.

4G37 turbos are pretty cool.

Definitely look into clutch and fuel system. You'll choke the stockers without a doubt.

I think that'd be dope yo

It might not be as quick as a 2.0 and it might run up a bit of a tab, but it'd be different

I have nothing against him wanting to turbo his 1.8. I know a kid who invested over 10K between the custome setup and stereo system. Just was wondering if he had explored all his options. just for all the money your gonna look at putting in to make it run good (About 4-5K) You could have a real high horse power 4G63.

I used to have a 1990 eclipse 1.8 It was the only eclipse I have ever seen without a bump in the hood. It was my highschool car and I loved it. However it was the slowest p.o.s. I had ever driven. It was so slow it was almost dangerous. With 92hp pulling almost 3000lbs of car you can imagine. I needed a head start just to merge on the highway effectively. I wanted to turbo it so bad but i figured why make a really slow car just a slow car? So I bought my 95 tsi and damn was that a difference. I pretty mcuh trippled my horsepower after all my basic mods. But more power to you! :thumb:

For some reason it makes me think of a honda build up. But in a better car. Should be fun.:thumb:

EXACTLY! When I was 16 I had a Eclipse 1.8l and had all the intentions into modding it into a crazy turbo beast. But instead I invested $4,000 into a mint GSX and had a very nice car. Then traded that for a civic, and now I'm back with a TSi AWD (modded). SO in other words, its fine if you want to be different.

But honestly, what are your goals? Why do you want to do this? Not hating, just wondering.

Thats an ignorant statement. I'd take a turboed hatch over a turboed 1.8l anyday.

hell yeah... I would take an all motor b18c in a hatch as well.... but, its going to be nucking futz when he's done... good luck man

Actually a honda motor would be a way better build choice than the 1.8. The 1.8 sohc head has real horrible flow. There was a guy here that built a turbo 1.8 eclipse with a 50 shot of nitrous. After all his mods he was running only high 13's to low 14's.

He was explaining how much better my head on my car was and how his was still barely faster than a stock DOHC turbo. He knew what he was doing since he had a 10 second fox body.
