My car is a 95 TSI, I am putting a 6 bolt in, AWD, 5 speed. THANK YOU

1. Mounts to the front of the block and the power steering pump bracket mounts to it. (2g?)
2. Motor mount
3. Power steering pump bracket (1g)
4. Rear motor mount
5. Motor mount although I don't recognize it, I'm only familiar with the 1g mounts though.
6. Driver's side motor mount, mounts to the front of the block and the PS pump bracket mounts to it (1g)
7. I have no idea. Must be 2g specific
8. J-pipe (1g)
9. BOV flange for UICP. (1g)

Hope this helps!

9!'clipseDOHC you are a huge help! Thank you!

#2 Is this a motor mount for a 1g or 2g?

#4 Is this a motor mount for a 1g or 2g?

thanks

#2 and 4 is for a 1g!
#5 is the timing belt side motor mount for a 2g..

No problem! I agree with Dave, #2 & 4 look exactly like my 1g mounts but if you post the numbers stamped on them we could identify them for sure. There are several different mounts even just for 1g's depending on auto/manual and fwd/awd.

I am trying to go though all my stuff and separate the 1g stuff, i dont need it because i only have a 2g. I added some more pictures in the first post if you guys can help with them please.

10. Looks like a 2g alternator adjustment bracket
11. Engine lifting bracket, goes between the TB and the CAS (1g)
12. Unknown so I would guess 2g
13. A/C compressor bracket
14. That's a weird angle but it looks like a 2g motor mount
15. Timing belt guards (they mount on the timing side of the head and the timing belt cover bolts to them)
16. Engine lifting bracket, goes over the exhaust manifold.
17. Flywheel cover, mounts to the bottom of the block and trans
18. Another power steering pump bracket/mount
19. Alternator adjustment arm (1g)
20. A/C belt adjustment bracket

Its hard to tell on a lot of the parts if they are 1g or 2g since they are both 4G63 and therfore very similar.

To add:

#1 is for a 2G.
#7 is a bracket for 2Gs by the fuse box, called a relay box bracket; you can see where the clutch line runs through the bracket.
#10, aside from looking broken, looks like an automatic 1G's alternator bracket.
#12, the one on the right is the 2G engine lift bracket that bolts to the passenger side of the intake manifold. The one on the left I assume is a 2G bracket as well, though I'm not absolutely certain where it goes. I want to say it is the same bracket as the one on the right but for later models, but I am not absolutely certain.
#14 I agree is a 2G mount, the rear specifically.

On the front and rear motor mounts, it depends on the numbers are stamped on them.

The 5-speed, FWD, turbo, rear mount as MD136194 and the front as MD133346.

The 5-speed, FWD, non-turbo, 2.0L rear mount is MD136193 and the front as MD133345.

GVR-4 uses MD136195 on the rear, same as 1G 5sp AWD, and MD133344 on the front which is only for GVR4

1990-1994 AWD DSM Manual Transmission

Front motor mount bracket - MD133347
Rear motor mount bracket - MD136195

1990-1994 AWD DSM Automatic transmission

Front motor mount bracket - MD152506
Rear motor mount bracket - MD143793

where did you get this information? I would love to have it in front of me for numerous other parts.

CAPS or ASA will tell you, though I'm not sure it will help you with many other parts. I've mentioned it in a couple threads.

Let's complete the list then for 1Gs. The underlined numbers are the ones you will find stamped for these brackets:

2.0L N/T Auto Front - MD133345
2.0L N/T Auto Rear - MD136193
2.0L T Auto Front - MD149595
2.0L T Auto Rear - MD149648
1.8L Auto Front - MD133345
1.8L Auto Rear - MD112582
1.8L 5spd Front - MD133345
1.8L 5spd Rear - MD112582

Do we think #10 is a 1g or a 2g mount? How can you tell its broken?

Agreed with Brian on it being a 1G. It looks broken because it doesn't have the "U" shape in it for the tensioner bolt, as seen on the bracket in #19. Without that or something similar, there is nothing keeping tension on the belt unless the other two bolts are severely over tightened locking the alternator in place which is a bad idea, BTW.

Here's a couple pictures of this piece that I could find after a quick search:

In case any of you think im a complete noob, this is my first DSM. I bought my 2g with no motor or trans. So im trying to piece it all together.

Me First!

#21 AC Belt Tensioner bracket
#22 6 bolt or 1G 7-bolt Front Motor Mount
#23 Same as above
#24 AC Belt Tensioner bracket
#25 Timing Belt Tensioner
#26 Turbo Oil Drain tubes (goes from bottom of turbo to oil pan)
#27 Alternator Mounting bracket I believe, not positive.
#28 Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley
#29 This is unfamiliar to me but looks like it goes on the front of the motor, maybe the idler pulley goes on it. It's definitely fronm a 1G engine.
#30 Timing Belt Idler Pulley
#31 I have no clue, what does the other side look like?

#21 and #24 are the same thing and for a 2G
#22 and #23 are the same thing and for a 1G
#25 on the left is for a 2G and on the right is for a 1G
#26 is for a 7-bolt found in 2Gs up until early 1996 models
#27 is a bracket on a 1G that is a little hard to explain. You can see it linking the "L" engine mount to the engine bracket for the power steering pump in this picture:

#28 I'm leaning towards it being a 1G, but I don't know for sure
#29 is the timing belt tensioner arm; it mounts on the engine mount bracket in #22/#23 and I'll agree it's for a 1G
#30 is the same for 1Gs and 2Gs
#31 my guess would be the A/C belt tensioner pulley for a 2G; it would mount on #21/#24

Glad to see you found my posts. ;)

1.8L Auto Rear - MD112582
1.8L 5spd Front - MD133345
1.8L 5spd Rear - MD112582

I'm going to borrow this thread for a second.

Brain, I took your list and filled it the other parts number that were quoted from you without quotes (don't you hate it when people do that?). Anyway, its easier to read with it all in one list. By the way, do you know if 1990 mounts are different then 1991-1994? I have a buddy here in Texas that is having an issue and is wondering.

2.0 AWD 5spd Front - MD133347
2.0 AWD 5spd Rear - MD136195
2.0 AWD Auto Front - MD152506
2.0 AWD Auto Rear - MD143793
2.0 T 5spd Front - MD133346
2.0 T 5spd Rear - MD136194
2.0 T Auto Front - MD149595
2.0 T Auto Rear - MD149648
2.0 N/T 5spd Front - MD133345
2.0 N/T 5spd Rear - MD136193
2.0 N/T Auto Front - MD133345
2.0 N/T Auto Rear - MD136193
1.8 Auto Front - MD133345
1.8 Auto Rear - MD112582
1.8 5spd Front - MD133345
1.8 5spd Rear - MD112582

^ All part numbers thanks to 19Eclipse90.

Appreciate you doing that, Nate. :thumb: I've got them in a spreadsheet, I just never considered posting them all up.

I posted in (wouldn't you know it LOL) a Texas member's thread earlier today stating that I do not believe there to be any 1990 specific front or rear roll stopper brackets. CAPS/ASA lists individual part numbers for the manual transmission 1990 turbo models (both FWD and AWD), but they are the same part numbers as the respective 1991-1994 models. There are no 1990 automatic turbo cars so those brackets are specific to 1991-1994 models. Other than that, the front and rear brackets are really as cut and dry as the part numbers listed.

Edit: Add to Nate's post above, here's some pictures of the AWD front mounts: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/custom-fabrication/383215-new-3-pc-crossmember-input-needed-3.html#post152398190
