Please Help(Drive shaft)

HI, this is my first post and I need help already. I just put a new transmission in my 1990 awd tsi. Everything seemed to go ok, but i seem to have forgotten to put the driveshaft into the transfer case when i installed it. Now everything is complete and I don't want to take the axle and transfer case out just to put up the driveshaft. If anyone could offer any advice, or just let me know that there is no way around pulling everything back out, I would really appreciate it. Thanx
