play in the drive shaft what could it be caused by?

ok i just recently had an issue with the local dealer with the transfer case long story short i bought the car in for the transfer case recall i got the car back and the car would shake alittle not horrible next day transfer case was leaking brought it back told me it wasnt drove the car for a few days transfer case started grinding brought it back again thats where the car sits untill the new transfer case comes in. during my shaking issue i had the tires checked for balacing was fine was it was on the lift because i know the owner he noticed that the drive shaft had play in it. my question is because of the transfer case being out of fluid and what not could that have caused the drive shaft to have play in it and cuased my bushings to wear out? thanks for the info

forward and back or rotational play? or are the carrier bearings shit?

im not totally sure what you mean by carrier bearing but it was forward and back play.

how severe? the carrier bearings are the big rubber mounts that hold the drive shaft sections

a good amount i wasnt happy with it at all
