Pitting in my rotors. How much is too much?

One rotor is definately shot. it has bad pits. the other is not too bad, only pinholes (vs massive chunks/deposits) Here are pics of the one in question. The rotor is practically brand new in spec. .981"

I ask because I went to find new rotors and all the parts stores had cheapos, or only one of the "higher" end. Turning will cost as much a cheap ones... so I guess Im gonna get rotors anyway. But i would like to know for future reference. Thanks

The "bad" one pitted to bad to resurface?
Whenever I do brakes, anything I do to one side I do to the other. It can probably be resurfaced but if the other one cant then I'd buy new both. Suppose you could resurface one new rotor to match the specs of the old resurfaced one but that would be a waste imo.

yeah thats one more reason... I just thought a new rotor and a like new spec, pitted rotor could work till Another new one came in stock. I figured why not risk it and got some valucraft rotors. I really hope they dont suck, or suddenly fail or my car will be like my head :banghead:

Ya, with the snow on its way soon I wouldn't want uneven braking.
Did the 6/4 combo come with 2 piston calipers? :idontknow: check this out --> OVERSTOCK! OEM Mitsubishi Rotors cant beat it!
If not, now's a good time to upgrade. :thumb: I totally understand the $$ thing but its a big improvement over the 1 piston calipers so at least keep your eye out on a good deal.

Rotors are such a cheap thing to replace, I would personally go that route unless the parts take sometime to get and you cannot be without it.

As many new warped rotors that i've bought, i much prefer to just have the old ones turned and throw on some new pads.

Yeah i just went ahead and got some duralast golds... 40 a pop. 40 more for pads. = Peace of mind and solid stops. the other one was pitted so bad, and had such bad rust from sitting that the brakes actually vibrated and pulsed like the rotor was "warped." brakes are sweet now.

40$ to turn one rotor? or for a new one? I get rotors turned here for 5$ a piece:D or 10 for drums. But my shop has a brake lath so free for me!
