Well sadly my laser spun a bearing yesterday in my quest for an 11 second pass this season. Luckily my previous 4 DSM's have never had to have a bottom end put in. So I guess you could say I am a bit of a newb in this category.

I have read a lot about the wiseco pistons having the cracking issue on the skirt. I have been doing some searching and have found good deals on je pistons with manley or eagle rods. what are peoples opinions on je pistons, I cant really find any info on many DSM's using these. Any input would be appreciated!!

I don't know anything about JE pistons, but I have Wisecos that have held up for 4 years and 18k.

I recently pulled the head and the pistons looked perfect. I pulled one because I broke a wrist pin and the piston actually looked great otherwise. The brass bushing in the small end of the rod had deteriorated and caused some slop and it beat the wrist pin til it broke in half OMG

I have Manley H beams. I bought a replacement rod, and the closest gram weight I could find was an Eagle rod. The small end is quite a bit wider and looks to support the wrist pin much more than the Manley rods. I didn't measure, but if I had to guess from memory I would say they are around 1/8-3/16" wider at the small end. I would get them over the Manleys if I was building a bottom end again.
