I am having issues with 1 bolt on top of the tranny not threading in. Maybe its stripped, and another issue with the bolt that is located by the transfer case. Does a bolt go from block to tranny? Theres no way to bolt it down. thats A HUGE gap and im sure will destroy either my tranny or motor. HELP PLEASE

I know that there is one bolt with the tranny that won't thread in and you are to put a nut behind it and thread that together through the hole.

Xfer case, I am unsure.

As for the pulleys, why didn't you install that stuff before dropping the block in? What you'll need to do is unbolt the motor from the driverside mount and lower it down so you can access that area from the wheel well splash guard. It would be the same way as doing a timing belt.

It looks like the input shaft on the tranny is not fully seating and therefore not letting the tranny sit flush against the block but then again this looks like an Auto so maybe these aren't typical issues with these.

The water pump pulleys are just a pain period. Try installing them one at a time.

The driverside mount is destroyed. thats why you see it not bolts in. As for not installing or doing things in "steps", I have no garage and having the motor sitting in the driveway covered by trash bags, dont make me feel safe. I wanted to drop it in, and just bolt on from there, not having to worry about the rain and everything FL mother nature had in store for me. Where I live, I had neighbors on my ass about having it look like a shop out there, and they were not happy, so in reguards I didnt get to put the entire motor together outside the car like I would have liked.

That bolt that goes down by the xcase, is really freaking me out. Looking at it from under the car, the spacing/gap is scarey.

Yes its a automatic....hence the kiggly tranny kit you see in pictures. I wanted to bolt up my xcase, but again that bolt "how do I get it on" LOL. Can you thread in from block to tranny?

Now my tranny mount isnt lining up. like 2 hours outside sweating, and accomplished NOTHING.

I will have to go withyour trans and motor not lining up and the imput shaft is not seated all the way. If you get your trans and block together it might free up some space in the front of the motor, and as said above its like doing a timing belt lowere the motor on that side.

how do I lower the motor? Should I un bolt the tranny completely again? The driverside motor mount is not holding the motor up, only the tranny

Mine i have a jack and a board under the oil pan, that support the engine while the timing mount is off the car.

I have 2 floor jacks. Should I just get one under the tranny and one under the motor, and play with both of them? Maybe it will unbind itself? I think its binding like a < motor and tranny. The flex plate is stuck on the shaft of the tq converter maybe

once the motor is flush, I do thread in a 14mm bolt from block to tranny there correct? I see no other way to bolt is down

Don't try and suck it together with bolts, you should be able to get it flush just by lifting the trans on also there is a 10mm x 1.25 bolt can't remember how long that goes through the block and threads into only the trans above the transfer case I got mine from Mitsubishi for about 3 buck in Canada so it would probably be half that for you.

I cant just reuse the tranny bolt I took out from my 7 bolt? it is a 10mm x 1.25 14mm head and about 3 inches long

You have the flexplate on backwards, that is why things won't bolt together.

No I had it on the other way and it wouldnt even fit on the tq converter shaft pin, plus the 4 bolts that go into the tq converter, didnt reach. I had to yank the motor a 2nd time, and then flip it around, this time I had to grind down the crank bolt to get rid of the roundness of the bolts.

Here is how it all started out

Do you think this is possible with tranny still in car, or do I have to yank it all? The other way made it impossible to get the flex plate bolts on the tq converter.

If all the weight of the engine is held up by the tranny, that is probably causing your issues. get some weight onto the mounts it will probably bolt up.

Installing the trans can be a pain. Sometimes the bolts will line up, sometimes they wont.

What I did was grease the input shaft from the trans to help it slide into place. You have to #### the trans back and forth, and tilt the back of it up towards the engine a bit and it will slide right up. Once you clear the gap between the trans and the block, the bolts will (should) all thread in. I've learned that you have to get supremly lucky to have the bolts pull the trans to the engine.

The Mount that bolts to the trans is always a pain for me to get to thread. Put it on LAST as the trans will have to shift a bit to seat properly on the block.

Just take your time and look at things. You need to counter-act the balancing of the transmission. That's all there is to it. Everything else looks right. I know that there is a bolt that threads from the block to the trans somewhere above the t-case.. but I'm honestly not sure where. I personally couldn't find it on my GSX and I've looked 100 times.

Wickedz. I'm not sure exactly why you are having this problem, when it was yanked out of the car it was in perfectly....try to do what XiKeiyaZI stated....Doing tranny work in a 2g is an absolute pita to do....makes working on 1g's so much nicer....

so does the flex plate look correct in pics? I mean seriously if I yank motor and try to bolt it directly to the tq converter, the flex plate WILL NOT touch the tq converter, thus having no way to connect tranny to motor.

I would just pull both the engine and tranny and connect them out of the car. I was suprised how easy it was to install my engine with the tranny attached..

The pulleys are a pain, especially the water pump one, and the idler pulley for the ac belt. I find it best to jack up the engine (using jack and piece of wood on the oil pump), remove the drivers side motor mount completely and you should be able to slide the pulley through the top.

As for your tranny, I'm not to sure.

hey your in FL, come do a road trip and dont leave a tuner down LOL..
