I'm having a small issue with my 6 bolt swap. It starts really hard when its cold but after I play with the key for 10 min or so it will start and run great with no problems. Iv change out the single prong sensor on the t-stat housing and I have no o2's yet (iv never had o2 and never has this issue with a 7 bolt). Another issue I have is when in driving and hit like 55 the car jerks and sputters like fuel cuts? But my boost gauge won't go over 5 psi even if my mbc is all the way up? Ideas?

If I'm thinking right it sounds like you replaced the fan switch, or coolant temp sender to the instrument cluster.....the coolant temp sensor is what you may need to swap out which is what tells the ecu what the engine temp is and allows the ecu to determine the correct cold start fueling....fueling period actually.
Without looking at the actual data you will be throwing parts at the car hoping you replace the right one. you need to look at the sensor values before you can determine what the issue may be. But I wouldn't continue changing parts until you have a definitive direction towards repairing your issue.

did you transfer all of your sensors from the 7 bolt? cause if you didn't that will be part of the issue if the factory 2g computer is whats running your car....

Like what was said above me. The Engine coolant temp sensor is probably what's wrong. It has to be a 2g sensor to be compatible with the wire harness. The single prong one is just for the temperature gauge in your cluster. If I'm not mistaken, when the ECT sensor fails, both fans should run at all times but someone correct me if I'm wrong. My harness had the ECT connector break off and the sensor go bad so I'm in the process of replacing both.

The jerking and sputtering is most likely from using the 1G CAS on the 2G 1996 engine. I did the potentiometer found on the Magnus Motor sports 1G in a 2G article, but later I got DSMLink to get rid of the random cylinder misfire that is caused by using the 1G CAS on the 2G.

That should take care of your problem with sputtering (unless you have an obvious boost leak, it sounds like you aren't able to hold over 5 psi of boost).

What's the potentiometer? Is that the resistor thing you can splice into one of the ecu wires and adjust it? Also iv got all the 7 bolt sencor the engine actualy cane out of a 2g that was 6 bolt swapped. And I heard some where that the 96 is obd1 and the 95's are obd2 I have a 95 ecu in my 96 which would be an obd1 computer in an obd2 car? Could this be some thing or an I totally misunderstanding? And yes I can't get above 5psi but I have no boost leaks I have a 17c turbo and I had this problem before. When I switched to a tdo5h I was back to 14. I think it may be the hot side sence its a 14b hot side mated with basically a 20g comp housing. It's super laggy. Would upgrading to a 20g hot side help?

I usually write long a drawn out posts 'cause I hate the ol' "BOOST LEAK" quick reply.

But I really recommend you get DSMLink. It's an invaluable tool no only for general datalogging but for troubleshooting as well. Sometimes, tinkering with an issue for days and throwing parts at it can be elieviated by simply getting eyes what your ECU is "seeing".

Making adjustments to your ECU makes WORLDS of difference in performance.

I've done a 6Bolt/2G Head to my car running Link. Saved me many times from thinking it was a bad part. If somethings wrong with your engine, your ECU tell you.

I'm in high school living on my own with a small income. Spending 800 bucks on link is out of the question right now.
