It's a 1992 Eclipse GSX, great shape, 110k miles (timing belt due soon). Already did most of the free mods, not gonna bother hacking the can because soon enough I'm going to get an open K&N filter. That's it for now, although one problem I've found that never happened on my old DSM's is downshifting into second it always grinds a little, no matter how slow and smooth I do the shift, but it never grinds going from first to second. I've tried going into other gears first before downshifting, and it still grinds. Normally I would just think bad synchro, but why would it only happen downshifting? This happens at any speed too. Also noticed a SMALL oil leak from the valve cover, so I'll be replacing the gasket. Haven't got a chance to clean the engine bay yet, so it's still looking a little dirty.

Anyways, here's the pics, that's my half naked Ducati in front of it, I had all the fairings off doing my monthly toothbrush cleaning treatment Any and all comments are welcome.

i luv the GSX and the bike, and i was looking and saw the tail lights on the DSM, whoa...looked up, your not even from the states, that makes it a even better find!

Yeah, those are temporary Italian plates. I'll be getting my US Armed Forces plates soon enough. I'm in the Air Force, stationed in Italy. Both the car and the bike are US specs, so whenever I decide to come back to the US, they can come with me.

I ended up paying $4200 for it. I know that's a little high, but it's VERY difficult to find quality US Spec performance cars over here, ESPECIALLY an AWD DSM. So I paid what I had to in order to get it. I think it was a decent deal.

Also I notice the car "feels" lower than stock, it doesn't ride like it's been lowered though, feels like stock suspension. I'm gonna go to the base auto hobby shop and rent a lift for a couple hours and check everything out underneath.

The car is (was) completely stock, I performed free mods on it today, I was very surprised to find it was still stock. It is very clean, and I am very happy with the purchase so far, we'll see how she turns out soon enough

hey i was gonna tell ya since ur over there in europe, Diamlerchrystler made a select few 1g CONVERTABLE DSM's! and they even came in every package that was available for the 1g's and they were only to be sold in europe when they made them, too bad u couldnt have found one of those huh!? that would be a real awesome to bring back to the states... but none the less u got a damn good car there! clean... :laugh:

Sorry but I am liking the bike more... Ah the mighty Desmo. I had a 916, but missed a braking point at the top of the Laguna Seca Corkscrew and totaled it. spent 3 weeks in the hospital for my troubles to.... Oh well we live we hurt we learn.

the bike gives me the biggest stiffy=D i got to sit on a ducatti 996 an di thought i was gonna just start it up and run out of the shop with it. i liked sitting on it more than i liked riding the cbr600

Guess I'm getting more comments on the bike than on the car

It's a great bike, with the 54mm full system exhaust it sounds awesome, sounds more like a high-revving Harley than a sportbike. Suspension on it is just incredible, it loves quick blasts up through the tight and twisty mountain roads we've got here

I've got a video camera and a camera mount for mounting the camera on my tank and filming my rides. Once I get one edited and put together I'll post up a link!

PS...yes I'm pretty sure it is the original paint on the car, it doesn't appear that it was repainted.
