I've been drooling over this thing all day. It's a brand new 7 blade HX40 (thanks again Justin) with a BEP T3 housing. It just came in today and had to take some pics to post of up this thing and it's giant oil drain. I'm just blown away the size oil drain it requires, -12an is huge. Can't wait till i bolt it on my brand new 2.4l and see what she can do.

Thanks. I'm currently right in the middle of it. Just got my dual walbro's installed and -8an lines ran so i can run some e-85. Motor is ready to go just need some more cash to take trans to shep for rebuild. I don't want to put the engine in without having trans done, that's my only holdup right now. Also in need of a dual disk clutch, hopefully tax return will finish the trans and clutch so i can install this bad boy and begin the fun.
 
HOLY crap. That is huge. I remember underestimating the power of these turbos until i took a ride in a car with one. What power are you aiming for?:)
 
The tranny is gonna be a shep stage 4, hopefully that will hold up to what i'm gonna throw at it. Tax time should get tranny and a new clutch taken care of so I can find out.
 
Does your oil feed have the restriction in the piece threaded into top of the CHRA? Just curious about doing that on my setup, but I'm just worried about it spraying into the CHRA instead of pouring. Thanks
 
No it is a straight -4an. I will place a restricter somewhere between the OFH and the chra, that way i can put a pressure senser on the turbo side and check what i'm running at the turbo. I'm not sure exactly how i'm gonna do this as I have not found anything yet, but that's my plan. If anyone knows a good way for me to do this please let me know.

Clint's Garage: Holset HX35 Turbo Install

I don't know how permanent you would want that setup. A few people's opinions about that is they don't like the manual gauge with line running into the cockpit with chance of it leaking. You could always just drive it around for a while like that to get a good look at what the oil PSI range is at and then just take that adapter piece off and call it good. Hope that helps.
 
I got the turbo drain flange from here Turbo Flanges & Gaskets, T6 / S400 Oil Drain Flange, RPS-T6ODF | RacePartSolutions.com Then you can get a 3/4npt to -12an about anywhere i got mine local but you can get them from summit racing.

I'll check out that link. I would not run a manual oil pressure gauge I would run a electric and just install a sending unit inline with the oil supply.

If your drain is big enough (and -12AN is within spec), just be sure your max pressure is in the mid-70's and you'll be fine without a restrictor at all. Don't over-restrict....these turbos like all the oil they can get as long as it can properly drain.
