I've been drooling over this thing all day. It's a brand new 7 blade HX40 (thanks again Justin) with a BEP T3 housing. It just came in today and had to take some pics to post of up this thing and it's giant oil drain. I'm just blown away the size oil drain it requires, -12an is huge. Can't wait till i bolt it on my brand new 2.4l and see what she can do.

If your drain is big enough (and -12AN is within spec), just be sure your max pressure is in the mid-70's and you'll be fine without a restrictor at all. Don't over-restrict....these turbos like all the oil they can get as long as it can properly drain.

I'll definately keep that in mind, but with my old 2.0 the oil pressure was 100psi with a ported OFH. Will just have to see with this new 2.4.

I'll check out that link. I would not run a manual oil pressure gauge I would run a electric and just install a sending unit inline with the oil supply.

Sounds smart with the electric gauge. I would like to do something like that with my setup except I have no clue yet how to hook up the sender so I will be researching that, hopefully it's not too hard. Just like Justin said some people have gotten away with not restricting the oil at all, but I think you would maybe want to try a -3an line with -4an fittings on each end (because you already have one of the -4an fittings). I don't know how much that would lower the pressure but just throwing out the idea for you.

Well I finally found a restrictor I can use. TURBO OIL RESTRICTOR AN-4 BILLET ALUMINUM - eBay (item 250434511919 end time Jan-19-11 16:48:46 PST) I will run that right off the oil filter housing that way it's easy for me to put in a T fitting half way to the turbo so that i can install an oil pressure sending unit. This thing has a .075 hole in it so that will give me room to drill it out if I should need it to be bigger, which is what i'm hoping for.

Prib9671 installing an electric sender inline with your -AN line is very easy, they sell fitting that are -AN on either end with an npt port in the middle so you can screw in the sending unit. It's that simple. Here is an example of one kind but there are more. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/DEI-125043/
