Here are some pictures of my crank! Does anyone know how this happened? I thought it was just crankwalk at first but when I pulled off my bearing and saw that imagine my surprise!

Honestly I'm not sure you did anything wrong. There are several things that come to mind, first one is over rev, next would be weak crank, third would be an underground crank that the oil holes weren't de-burred properly. I'd say get another crank in there and get back to breaking parts .

Judging by the hardware, that's a stock shortblock. How old is it and how long have you been beating up on it? Either way, the engine's gonna have to come out. I would DEFINITELY keep that bad boy as a memorabilia, that's what I do with all of my broken shit (up to a crank and a bent rod now).

I have similiar pictures. I cracked one very close to that spot. Had a Material Engineer look at mine at work. He thought there was a small flaw when cast and it eventually failed. Mine went on the way to get coffee before work. Drove it 5 miles like that.

I blew my motor once so I did a rebuild and have been running it for about 30,700 miles. I do have the engine out right now. O yeah for sure im going to keep it, I never seen that before . yeah I was running it with a harmonic balancer.

My thoughts are that your harmonic damper crapped out or maybe that particular cylinder experienced a lot of knock. Got a pic of the damper, or maybe a better one of the bearing near where your middle finger is in the pic above? I'd really like to see the rest of that rod and your oil pan contents as well.

Ray, I'm assuming you mean that it cracked due to a stress riser from a sharp edge left after it being ground and not deburred?, and not that the actual grinding caused it to be weaker....

My guess would be a flaw in the crank as already suggested. You might be able to see it once you get the crank out and look at it if it's bad enough.
