picked up a 91 talon tsi fwd auto...need help

Hello everyone! Last weekend I picked up a 91 talon tsi fwd automatic. The car had been sitting up for quite some time. Engine was missing on cylinder 3 and trans would not move. So I found an injector to be stuck open. Fixed it. Replaced plugs because they were fouled out. Replaced fuel filter because it was stopped up. Added new 93 gas. Trans didn't have any fluid in it due to leaking pan gasket. Surprisngly the did not have metal in pan. Changed fluid and filter now shifts. Ok now to my question. I have a coolant light on coolant level is normal. The car runs good until it reaches operating temp. Then will sputter when trying to give it gas. Still idles and runs fine in park. Drives but when throttle is given goes to sputtering. Do you guys think the cts could cause this? Thanks in advance.

It damn well could be and it's so easy to replace. Pick one up and swap it out.

You may also have a vacuum leak. Since she was sitting the hoses may have developed some dry rot.

Thanks for the reply. Hooked up a modis and found everything to be in order including the cts. With the exception it was running lean. Unplugged the 02 and fooled it long enough to acheive boost. Gonna check the fuel pressure tomorrow. I suspect a dieing fuel pump.

Only reason for the coolant light to come on is when the overflow tank is low. Let us know what you come up with on the other stuff.
