91 eagle talon need help any help

91 Eagle Talon TSI just got done doing a rebuild on the car. started it up and everything was going good for about a min or two then noticed it was burning rich and it started to knock so I took it back apart and checked everything. It looks great the only thing that i seen was there was in abundant a mount of gas on top of the pistons also the plugs were coated with gas to so i put everything back together and it still dose the same thing and I am at wits end with this car I have checked and rechecked the timing the only thing i have rechecked is the ignition timing could this possibly be it? i was told that the lifters could be bad but there new is there a way to test them to see if maybe i got bad ones ? if need more info just ask and I will do my best to answer

Yeah its running rich as for the mods are balance shaft eliminator trying to keep it close to stock as possible and K&N air filter. There is a top end knock

Injectors could be stuck open or the FPR may have possibly failed.

What do you mean top end knock? I think you might be hearing lifter tick and confusing it with predetonation. Do you have a wideband to confirm its running rich? Do you have some kind of datalogger to confirm the knock?

yeah its like it is not in time or getting a spark but when you do a spark test its getting spark do you know of away to post video i could post one so you could here i haven't done any mods to it. not worried about that yet when i bought the car almost about a yr and a half ago i got it to get it running and after that do what i want to do to it. when i bought it had a fuel problem the guy tried to wire up a after market fuel pump so he hacked the wires and rewired it for some reason only thing it was wired up back wards so i fixed that and put a new OEM pump back in it then i put new OEM injectors in it with new rail and filter. i did have to fix the vacuum lines because he had everything blocked off and cut the guy was a complete dumb ass but after a year and half I am about to blow the car up and start over. on the knock it definitely top side. and getting way to much gas

its definitely a knock not a lifter tick and there a puddle gas in each one of the cylinders and the spark plugs are soaked in gas

Did you put the CAS on correctly? IIRC, its possible to install it to where its 180degrees from where it should be. Also, is the ECU in good condition?

it has a brand new ecu on the cam angle senor i marked it so i could put it back where it was but other then that not sure I am guessing its back in the right spot. it was running before i decided to rebuild the motor. everything showing it is in time.

after more research a local shop told me it could be incorrect ignition timing if so does any one have the diagram for the 2.0 all i can find is one the the 1.8

You say you had to dismantle the unit. Did you get your mechanical timing (belt, sprockets, etc) back where it should be?

Interesting that I had the basic same problems with wet cylinders and plugs. I had a temp sensor going bad causing issues with the injector timing where they were firing out of time. Replaced the temp sensor and all cleared up.

Yeah the mechanical timing is spot on like it should be the the dial pins on the cam are at 12 o'clock and the timing marks are at 3&9 ill take a look at the temp sensors and see if it is bad
