Hey guys I am looking at this FMIC to buy off of Craigslist.... First off the person selling it says its a Peak Boost FMIC...It's up for a great price! I first wanted to ask if it was a respectable FMIC? Next the poster says its rated at 750hp. (more than ill ever need) So has anyone had any experience with this this brand of intercoolers? I cant seem to find it anywhere. It's also from a 2g so it will need some fabrication to fit on my 1g talon! Should I jump on this FMIC?

I used a peak boost turbo kit on another application back before they went out of business. They said all their intercoolers were Garrett cores with their own end tanks. Only issue I ever had with my kit was rather poor fitment of the pipes. After fighting with it for a while I just threw the piping away and made my own. The intercooler itself worked just fine for my application though.

You may find a lot of reviews on honda forums as the peak boost kits were very popular with b and k-series engines.

If the core size is suitable for your build then go for it, as long as your capible of installing it or have some one to do it for you.

I used a 3" EBAY intercooler when I made 505AWHP on a mustang dyno. I've since upgraded to OBX 4" thick intercooler. OBX is still kind of a "ebayish" brand. But ya know what, IT WORKS!
For the most part, and for over 3/4's of the members on here, a intercooler is a intercooler. Period.

Peak boost was indeed namebrand tho. If price is right I'd buy it for sure. And almost NO MATTER WHAT you should be able to fit it to your 1G no problem.

Thanks for all the replies guys! The core I'm looking at is 34"x8"x3" its in great shape just trying to figure out how I'd mount it to my 1g! It looks like a pretty decent core! Also thinking how hard it would be to get all of the piping figured out!
