ok so basically a few months ago, i was driving around parked my car when i got home and the passengers side window would not roll up

i pulled the door trim off, used some wire and connected the motor to the battery and rolled the window up, so the motor still infact works, the window rolled up nice and quick

the pass. window lock was not on. i took out both window switches and tried to clean em but did not help.

any ideas?

Sounds like a bad ground or short in power wire. You check all the fuses and stuff.

yea i checked all the fuses (as in pullin em out and looking, i did not replace em all) :/ if it was a fuse wouldn't both sides stop workin?

Had this issue... there is a pink fuse (40amp i think) in the engine compartment box is for power windows, which was my issue. So if it is the fuse, both windows will not work. Try different switches....

My pass window stopped working once, it ended up being the drivers side switch

im 99% sure this is my issue, ima try and see if anyone around Modesto, has one i can try out before i buy one LOL
thanks!!

get a volt meter and see if your getting power to the wires when you press the window button. if not trace the wires back and find out whats wrong.

can't just look at the fuse it may look good but it might still be blown should check it with a multimeter on ohms you should get a reading if its good.

my gsx passenger window also stopped working randomly. havnt really dug into it yet but its kind of annoying.

my passenger window is also having some issues, its just really sluggish to close. looking forward to more info on this.

im pretty sure in your case the window motor is actually going out. from what i gather when the motor its self starts going out they get slower before they finally stop working.
mine still worked nice and fast, it went down quick the last time it actually worked. and when i jumped the motor to the battery it was fast going up.

my gsx passenger window also stopped working randomly. havnt really dug into it yet but its kind of annoying.

i think we have the same issue LOL :(

Anyone come with an answer. My passenger window worked fine and I cant roll it down from either the driver or passenger side. Im not even sure where to start honestly.

My pass. window will roll down but not up. Took it to a local shop and they replaced the window motor/regulator. Still didn't fix it. they used testers and tested all the connections. power is getting to everything. they even took apart my ECU to see if that had something to do with it. Still didn't find anything. but the window rolls up when connected to a battery. they eventually gave up and put everything back together. charged me for every hour they spent on it too. $340 and window still doesn't work.

it could be a short somewhere or can be either bad regulator, and even the switch. i would start off by getting a tester and testing to see if you are getting power when pressing switch. but in your case since all these parts were replaced, it was to be a short somewhere

Is it possible to connect independent power to different locations to see if I can pinpoint where the short would be? For example it rolls up with power to the motor, then test it with power on inbetween the pass. Switch and the driver switch, then. Before the drive switch?

hey APEXVIII I bought a used switch for my 99 spyder and it turns out it was not the issue. if you want to use it to see if your issue is in fact your switch I'm in Fremont bout 45-60 min out from Modesto.

OK I had the same problem one day when it was raining (of course) and after checking fuses and pulling the door panel off I realized I accidentally hit the window lock. Haha. However, in the meantime I've been trying to figure out why my power door locks don't work and the Haynes manual suggested to check the wires at the door hinges since they get worn out from opening and closing the door. Just a thought.

I had the same problem. After a week of investigating, it turned out to be an issue with the window lock. Basically, in the driver's side window switch, you need to open it up and find the copper piece that makes a connection when the window lock is off. It gets bent out of shape and doesn't make a connection anymore. I bent it back and now I'm excellent
