Just bought a 90 eagle talon with loose timing belt/bent valves. Looking around it seems that a lot of people like partsdinosaur service, but didn't see if anyone is using the timing belts from there. They are $40. Are these good quality? I will be only be running 14psi boost on this engine. Just a driver car

I believe, and some one will correct me if I am wrong, that parts dinosaur uses OEM parts, so it should be fine. And if that NAPA on main street there is still the only parts store, you will be ordering online a lot.

And while you are int here changing the t belt, You should also consider changing the tesioners, pullies, and the water pump. Anything that is behind the timing belt that could fail in the future.
Mike

It says its a Flennor timing belt on his site. I'll email him and see what he says about it.

I'm going to do all the pullies, water pump and the hydraulic tensioner while I'm at it. The hydraulic tensioner is what failed and caused the old belt to slip.

If it were any random eBay seller, I'd be leery, but the Parts Dinosaur is a very reputable guy. I've spoken with him and known many people to buy from him. He doesn't sell anything if he thinks it might result in his good name being sullied.

Personally, I went from a Goodyear Gatorback to whatever they had at Autozone last time. If you were going to modify the car, you might try the OEM, but for a broke-down beater you just want to get running, I'd go with the off-brand from the Dinosaur.

Not too sure about now, but when I lived in Calhan, all they had was a NAPA, and You had to order just about every part You needed. But yea, most parts store belt will work for what You are looking for.

thanks for the input guys. I got a quick response from partsdinosaur and it satisfied me so I am going to order the parts and get it back together.

Dropping the head off at the machine shop today.

Wolf,

I haven't been in that NAPA. I actually live about 10 miles south of Calhan and I work in the Springs. I have been in other napa stores like that and I know what you mean.
