Timing Belt?

That's what i thought. broken crank sensor. looks like the harmonic balancer is already off. take the sensor out. Check the timing. Get pictures of the crank and cam timing marks. post a pic of that and we'll give you the next steps

Theres a v notch in the sensor trigger plate on the upper left side with a small arrow pointing at it. That's tic timing mark

This is a hard one. you have jumped timing but looks like it was only 1 or 2 teeth. you may have gotten lucky. looking straight at the crank the tdc timing mark is at 10:00. the trigger plate v notch has to line up with it. get a straight on picture of crank timing make. not the harmonic balancer. this'll let you know if its time to rebuild or just retime the engine

These pictures mean nothing without knowing where the crank is. Line up the crank only and show us where the cams are then. For sure you skipped some time. We just don't know how much because you didn't show us the crank mark. Everything is relative to that.

This is the crank timing mark at tdc. the \ has to line up with the v notch on the trigger plate

just h hair forward. the end of the \ should be in the middle of the v. get a shot of the cam timing once that's in time.

Yes your cams are obviously off but it appears only a tooth each. You might have gotten lucky. I'd perform a leak down test or ONLY after a newly installed belt a compression check. You can't do a comp check with it like that. Hard to do a leak down also unless you reset belt or removed cams

Dont worry about compression tests right now. Dont screw your valves up if they havent been hit yet. The pic I posted with the 2 yellow arrows. One pointing out is triffer plate. One pointing at the crank is tdc timing mark.

You will have to take off the accessory belts and covers to get to the timing belt. the balance shaft belt is (was) behind the harmonic balancer. Here is a walk-through to get you there and what your instore for:

Maybe you got lucky and the balance shaft belt damaged the crank angle sensor causing your not start. Much easier of a fix than a rebuild.

This was the step-by-step to do your timing belt from yesterday. It has everything you have been asking about with pictures...........

Here are also some helpful videos as well. This is completed on a 1g but still very helpful:

You will have to replace that crank sensor. So you will have to drop the timing belt.

Also see if the small belt gear on the front balance shaft spins by hand.
