You sir have a bad head gasket. Bottom line. You gauge must be fried if it's not registering. Boiling in your overflow, means boiling throughout your entire system. You should NOT have anything other than green or yellow or even a crappy dingy green in your resevoir. If it's brown, oil is leaking into your coolant system. Too bad you don't live in IN, I could repalce your head gasket and resurfaced your head and install it in about 3 hours for about 300 bucks. Check your dipstick, too. Pull it out and I bet it looks like chocolate milk.



But thats what causes the bubbling in my reservoir tank, blows steam in it.no offense 96_killer.
, we all have are own opinion based on our experience and knowledge of Automobiles and other stuff, and that is what makes this site really cool! 

Do you happen to have an exhaust leak of any sort. My was bubbling and shooting all over all because of a exhaust leak.
Don't add anything to your coolant system. It'll just cause more headaches later. It might save you in a pinch until you've got clogged water jackets and you end up definitely warping your head from overheating issues later on down the road.
If you need to burp it I reccommend doing it with a buddy. I've found that putting the front end on jack stands, turning on the heat, and adding coolant at the thermostat housing while a friend puts a slight amount of pressure on the throttle is a quick way to get the job done. Applying throttle will open up the thermostat and allow for coolant to flow through your system freely. Add coolant till it overflows then let off the throttle. Let the thermostat open on its own after that and add more coolant. Step on the throttle again and add some more then let off. Keep doing this process until you get no more bubbles when the thermostat opens up. Add more coolant and close up the cap. Fill the reservoir to the line and drop the car. It's how I've done it numerous times with no problems at all.
