So ever since I got my motor back in my 14b just boosts to the moon. I've swapped the wastegate actuators and am running only wastegate pressure but some reason my boost gauge is showing the boost just skyrocketing whenever I step on it, I'm completely stumped.

I was having the same issues right after installing mine. Turned out that my intake was pinching the vacuum line on the actuator when I closed the hood...might want to check that out.

I don't think boost creep is what this is, it's doesn't slowly go up like the wastegate is half open it's boosting like the wastegate isn't opening. I don't believe that is boost creep

That is called boost creep. Now search about it and how to solve it.
Don't meant to be an ass to give a hint...
Port manifold and O2 housing use external wastegate or gate a a different downpipe like a 2.5 inch or stock size.

That's isn't exactly "in budget" LOL

My vacuum lines aren't getting crimped by anything, I even tried going with bigger lines and still nothing.

Manual boost controller? Have you tried running the line directly from jpipe to actuator?

yes, thats my current setup. i also tried putting a tee on the line from the intake manifold to the BOV, and still the same thing.

The reason I say this is that on a 14b/16g actuator, if you notice, the nipple is directly below the intake pipe, no more than half an inch. If you have a hard intake pipe it's possible that the weight alone will cause it to contact the actuator nipple. It doesn't matter if you use bigger lines or not.

My point is, don't assume. Make certain, because it is a very common and easy to miss problem.

I'm assuming that you have an after market boost gauge, stock one is useless. Check to make sure that the wastegate flapper arm moves freely, also check to see if the diaphragm in the actuator isn't blown.

ohh okay i see what you're saying now, i'll check that out, how do you recommend fixing it without breaking the nipple?

I've seen people bend it back to about 45 degrees, which is the more permanent solution. Just make sure not to pinch the metal when you bend it. But, since you're on a VRSF front mount (so am I), what I did was put the coolant overflow bottle underneath the intake filter, such that the intake rests on top of it. This fixed my problem immediately and I've been too lazy to change it since...LOL

haha i'll check it out and see if thats it

Could be bad MBC, I had one that had too strong of a spring in it. Also make sure wastegate flapper actually opens all the way.

I had creeping issues open dump o2 housing fixed it. I am also running a cheap ebay mbc boosted to 22psi for a year before it started to burn oil.

I had the same problem with my 14b after putting on my fp intake. The intake would pinch the hose at the nipple on the actuator eventually tearing the hose apart. I just bent the nipple a little bit and it's been fine ever since.

Just checked it out, the line off the actuator isn't getting crimped by the intake, and the flapper for the wastegate opens just fine, I'm at a loss as to why this is happening.

How much vacuum is your engime pulling at idle 900-1000 rpm?

Check your timing marks and make sure all the marks line up properly. You might have your exhaust cam 1 tooth advanced and/or intake cam 1 tooth retarded. It is not uncommon to have the cam marks look like they are lined up but be off a tooth on one cam or the other. You don't have to pull your lower timing belt cover to do this. You can use the timing mark on the timing belt cover to set your crank to TDC.
Let me know what you find out and if that's not the case we will try to figure out something else.

Are you referring to an aftermarket boost gauge or the stock one? In your profile it doesn't say you have an aftermarket. If it is an aftermarket are you sure it's working correctly?

I'm not using an mbc and my boost source is right off my j pipe. And I don't believe the cat is plugged but I do have a spare I can weld in.

Vacuum is around 6, and wastegate pressure in a 14b I believe is 12psi? So it should be boosting 12 psi
