Okay here's the deal 90 1G with basically 2g maf, 550 injectors, 18G, fuel pump, fpr @70lb, all is well.

Conversion to E85:

Added GM MAFT, BR7ES Plugs, 1000cc low resistance injectors, SAFC, and Innovative wide band with 02 narrowband simulator.

Car runs like crap, see attached log with over 40deg of timing in places?? Never reaches 0lb boost before it starts cutting out.

MAFT is zeroed out, SAFC can adjust at idle and various RPMs with the car sitting, but start going down the road with a load and it runs terrible. I can't even reach 1lb of boost before it sputters and completely cuts out.

I've triple checked wiring, etc..

Any suggestions??

Thank you, John

Why are you running 70psi base fuel pressure. 37psi is what the computer uses for injector size calculations.

You are sputtering from running to rich. While possible to get the car running semi ok with your setup, selling the safc and just using a properly scaled eprom chip with the maft will yield far better results.

Thanks for the feedback, I will lower to 37 and try it again tonight.

My logger saves to xls which is MS Excel, but the website made me convert it to xlm. I think any spreadsheet program will open it?? Sorry, I'd love to have you look over it for feedback.

Thanks,

I was running 43 psi before I installed Link and was getting pretty bad gas mileage and had some soot on the plugs, and that's only ~6 psi higher than it should have been. Running 70 psi without something like Link to compensate is pretty nutty. ECMLink is extremely versatile. It has a calculator where you enter your injector size and fuel pressure. It then does the calculations for you. You can use it to log and tune right on the spot if you're willing to have your laptop in the passenger seat (Fast and the Furious style). My ass puckered when I dropped the $400 on it, but I'll never go back. There are endless tuning parameters, and you can change injector size at will. Just go back in and tell ECMLink what size they are.

Yeah, I thought I would get my toe wet tuning this way, before I go with the DSM Link. But this has become such a PITA I wish I'd have just gone that way first. I am going to get it.

I did lower the pressure back to 37ish. However I am still getting a lot of advance time.

Here's what I did to get it boosting again. The SAFC setting were around +25 accross the board. (This allows it to idle well, and seems to be the best setting to get it to idle, and doing the sitting still 1K, 2K,3k RPM adjustments.) My wideband always shows around 14ish with the +25, anything else seems to drive that number up.

But, calculation wise I should be at about -25. So I changed it to -25 across the board, and boom, I'm boosting again.

However, several things:

Advance timing is still going up to the 40s.
During cruising my wideband is in the 14-18 AFRs, but drops below 11 when I punch it.

I'd load another attachment but I'm out of forum allocation.

Thanks, John
