Smoking because of advance timing maybe?

Ok long story store I had a 2G head on a 6bolt that was swapped into my 2G
Found the 2G head had valve guides leaking I do believe because there was massive oil in cylinder 2 exhaust port that went into my down pipe ect. There did seem to be a lot of oil.

Anyway I put a 1G head that I knew worked. Finally got it running today. It smoked like crazy drove it for about 2 miles and it smoked badly. Then when I got back home I noticed I forgot to turn my fans on the temp reached 219 So I hurried up turned the fans on about 5 mins later the temp started dropping but then I noticed that the car had stopped smoking.

Ok I know some of the smoke was more than likely because of the oil which I figure was about 1/2 quart that leaked down into the downpipe.

I was reading that if a car gets hot it will cause the ECU to retard the timing. I know my timing is a little advanced like at about 8 to 10 degrees is my guess. I ran the car before the engine swap the same way.

So if the ECU was to retard the timing due to the temp of the car would a car that has advanced timing some how burn oil? Just want to make sure that the advance timing for some reason on this build isn't the reason for the smoke which is blueish. The current rebuild has 72 miles on it.

its hard to say but 8 to 10 degrees is alot i think. blue smoke is usually a piston ring issue. you said you did the head but what have you done to the bottom end? did you do a compression check before you drove it? what kind of oil are you running? it very well could be the oil that was spilt down the exhuast but its hard to say. does it smoke when cold or just after warmed up?

The timing advance I can adjust that isn't a issue I ran that on my old build too.
It is my weekend car mainly.
The compression before starting was 180 across all 4 cylinders.
The bottom end has a total of 72 miles on it. It only smokes when warm.
I am running 20w50. Because of the whole break in process.

I just went out checked fluids they where all at a great level. I then started the car let it warm up to 190 and no smoke. Not sure I think it might of been the oil that was in the downpipe. It did start kind of hard though.

Just wondering about the whole car gets hot and ECU retards the timing. Then the car stopped smoking seems strange to me.

At 118 miles now the timing is still at about 8 degrees advanced any advice on if this will cause the car to burn oil I am at a lost only other thing I can think of is the turbo itself.
