Try lining the cams up then put on the timing belt on the cams and zip tie the belt down so they don't jump teeth. The exhaust cam tends to rotate slightly counterclockwise which might have happened to you.

Agree'd after i took the head off of my car the exhaust cam moved slightly counter clock wise.. about a tooth or so..

all of the other marks are on, the crank and the oil pump sproket are on. the exaust cam did not move backward... im just wondering if the intake cam could jump one tooth like that.

yup your most def off a tooth or so, heres what I normally do works every time, take the entire belt off and the grenade tensioner also, put the belt around everything except the exhaust cam, then turn the exhaust cam down 1 tooth and put belt on, then put the grenade tensioner back on and release the grenade pin, and you should notice that the belt gets tension and the exhaust cam will move up lining everything perfect. if the exhaust cam doesn't move at all at this time, take a flat head screw driver and stick it between the grenade pin and the bracket on top so the little silver pin on the inside will go up more. this should make it line up. rotate the entire assembly 4-5 times and it should still be in time.

it's pretty easy to tell whether or not the bearing is bad, just check for any grinding when you rotate the bearing, or loose side to side movement. the hydraulic tensioner, however, will just not extend back out if it is compressed. hope it helps answer your question...:dsm:
