Opinion on this hks bov

I say, if it works as well as the real thing, sounds like the real thing, and looks like the real thing....might as well save the money and get it. It's not like it's a wrist watch, or something fancy, it's just a BOV

This fail-ass thought-process will never die. It's been proven that knock-offs are made with inferior parts. We ALL know that. Why support some shit-company that would give two-shits about you as a customer when that 'BOV' fails? Everything has a failure-rate. I'd rather spend a little more to get something that will last years-not months.

Red - They also advertise the manufacturer's part number as well on the product description and i already the how to spot fakes, this one doesn't look fake, but nonetheless still bugs me, and they have fast shipping, all positive ratings.
It'd be funny if they were legit, and you'd be amazed how many companies, doesn't have to be auto part related, that sell their products that seem to be "well priced" and in fact cost them way less to produce.

Blah i hate thinking about this too much...

Well i went ahead and took a chance, i'll post up the result when it gets here tuesday.

Justin it says 13-22 days, i don't know why, but everyone who provided feedback have received it in no more than 5 days !
Regardless, i'm wishing for the best, worse comes to worse i'll sell it locally and get the real deal... Let's see what happens.

Singapore is closer to japan, did it ever occur to anyone that they purchased them on wholesale from Japan. My buddy took a chance just like this and received an authentic HKS bov, from Singapore. What are the odds.

Did your friend go on HKS's website and compare? There are knock-offs that are almost exact copies.

Thank you for specifying this little piece, i'm glad there's someone that thought about this.
I also read on a reply from them to a customer last night, they mentioned they buy from an authorized dealer in bulk, so i'm sure they get them for dirt cheap and still be able to profit out of them.

The ssqv3 retails for $200, I'd be very surprised if they are selling authentic ones at less than half the price and making a profit. If you read the feedback, there is multiple times that its stated it is fake.

I bought a black ver 2 HKS SSQV from them. Is 100% real. I called HKS after I got it, everything checked out. Even the diaphragm is HKS. I think there the 'reject' ones from HKS, mine had a few chips in the powder coat.

Same seller too ?

a knock off with the HKS companys plate on the side? dont believe hks would let that happen...

I had a fun little experience with eBay over the last 2 weeks:

My radiator hoses finally bit the dust. I figured I'd switch to some silicone ones, but I didn't feel like paying $75 a set for just the 2 main ones from Samco. So I went on eBay. I've ordered silicone couplers "from China" before and they've been fine. I ordered an 11 piece generic coolant hose set for $60 shipped. The ones in the photo showed them stamped with their own brand logo.

Two days after I ordered, the company was no longer a member on eBay. They were still responding to e-mails, they gave me a tracking number, and they had about 13000 feedback before they left eBay. So I wasn't too worried yet.

When I e-mailed them asking why they were no longer eBay members...
"Sorry to tell that we are not the regesiter of ebay due to wrong operate."

WTF

The hoses got here yesterday and are stamped with the Samco logo and are in bags with Samco part numbers and packaging. What are the chances they are really Samco stuff? Pretty slim. I had to cut almost 1" extra off each end of each hose to make them fit. And Samco doesn't make an 11 piece kit for our cars (I can't find it on their site). Oh well. They look fine and hold coolant.

And oddly enough the stuff shipped from NY...

Oh really?

There's more brand misrepresentation out there than you think. All it takes is a slight change in the logo's design or placement and you'll never know the difference.

Take this Holset turbo for example. Here's the compressor cover tag for a fake:

...and here's the tag for a Genuine:

Can you catch the subtle differences?

the word "HOLSET" on the fake isn't aligned. the letters arent straight, and the "E" looks eff'd up on the fake. i plan on running an HX35 one day. guess i'll stick to my 14b until that glorious day comes.

if i bought any part off of ebay, and it had moving parts that could have an effect on my engine and it's performance, i would just pay the few extra bucks on a genuine (new or used..in good working condition).
