1: Its a real car, we established that.
2: It WILL be worth money as a collector item in the future. How long? Well it started climbing in 1990.

Proof for number 2: Both my father and mother had 69 Camaros back in the day. They got rid of them...why? because the same reason a lot of you are saying "that car will never be worth anything" Just goes to show you. That is what makes antiques, antiques.
If I go to Walmart right now, and buy a 6 pack of Coke, and store it away for 200 years, I KNOW someone wont just toss it out. It will be worth thousands.

If people will pay thousands for fossilized dinosaur crap. They will pay thousands for a prototype car, no matter who, and what makes it. This is a very nice car which should be kept for special occasions such as car shows, and not daily driven..

The one an only complaint that will actually degrade this car will be the giant fuse box that got drilled through the firewall Which means there is probably an amp, and who knows what else drilled into the trunk. Shame on you. :toobad:

Other than that, Im sure this car would fetch well over 20 grand alone to a serious collector as of today.

I gave up reading on pg3, but I had heard about this car about 5 years ago, first time to see pictures. That car is f'ing sweet. :hellyeah:

haha id like to know how this car is doing as well. Ive always seen pics of this talon but i never really knew the story about it until i read this thread today. It looks like everyone pissed that kid off and he doesnt come on this site anymore...

i call shananagans LOL just kidding. If its legit than lucky you. Don't mod it though. Just do the maintananc. You should drive it though, its like all the old people say with there muscle cars "You can't get the smiles without doing the miles."

I seriously would love to know whats going on with this car as well. No one can find ANYTHING at all? I thought it was cool a 16 year old kid owned it but then when I saw the fuse box on the firewall it kind of killed it all for me, if his dad was such a big car collector then why would he let him do that? He tampered with original factory stuff, he probably lost a grip load of money right there. There is NO doubt in my mind that this car won't be worth money someday.

Unreal. First I've seen of this car, definately belongs in a museum and not in the hands of a 16 year old (no insults to the owner), Def. needs to be kept stock and stored away. As mentioned prior it is 1 of 1, it is unique and there is no other like it. To mod this car would be an absolute shame. Hopefully we hear some updates as to the cars current condition!!

I just read all 9 pages, there's a lot of nay sayers on this forum that need to STFU. People just need to realize if you don't have something posivitve to contribute towards the topic to GTFO!
Love the car 1 of 1 is insane! I wish I owned it. Besides that fact I wish they made a 1 of 1 2g talon and a 2g eclipse. Those would be seen as a collector item with out a doubt.
I'd like to know the current condtion of the car as well.
Thanks for the great thread.

Just to update all of you,
I drive this car on and off, I have multiple vehicles but I do drive it occasionally. It still has only 48k miles. When I first got the car I did have an audio system installed because the stock speakers fell apart from sitting for so long. The only other modification is a cat-back exhaust and intake. I had to take the stock exhaust off to have it repaired, and eventually I will put it back on. I know you guys are dsm enthusiasts and hate to see this car be driven, but it will be. My dad gave me this car to drive it because it was taking up garage space that he needed for more valuable cars. I do not have any intentions of selling the car, but if someone were to offer the right price, of course I'd let it go. Until then I'll be driving and taking care of it, I wont be racing or abusing it.

I thought this was a performance community... ?

Call me a hack but I would mod it and drive it. I think people are getting a little crazy over a car. It's not really a prototype, just a special edition. Don't get me wrong, it's definately the best looking 1G I've ever seen, period, and the OP is a lucky guy.

But it's just a car people.

Besides we are talking about DSM's not something super rare lambo, Ferrari, Porsche, Mercedes, Cuda, Camaro, superbird.

Its a dang talon for christ sakes.

Dam i just spent like 30 mins reading all 9 pages. That car is sexy. You got a keeper and a half there.

I'll be sad if you get into an accident wiht that. Especially knowing that the body parts are non existant. There is a reason why people said not to mod it. Even if it isn't a lambo or ferrari etc. it's still a very very rare car from the factory which is worth more than anything to an actual collector.

You are freaking lucky even if this thread is 5 years old, dang!

Another thing to think about, It is the only one out there, so whatever its worth to someone, whether its $15g or $25g its still worth only as much as a brand new eclipse. The important thing is, I am taking care of it (except yes I did mount the fuse box in a bad place... mistake...) and not racing it or beating it. It will still be around for years to come, and who knows, maybe it will be in a museum one day...
