That car is soooooooo Awesome. I would not mod that car at all. While I agree cars are meant to be different, something that is one of one is not something to kid around with. To say it has no special engine, features etc is just plain silly. The car is a concept that never made it to the market. To say most people wouldn't give much more than the average clean 1G is probably true. But to true DSMers, this is a prize to our community.

Why would it be worth nothing more then the avg 1g... I can have leathers as an option. No extra power, no special color, some rims (mass produced albeit) some special badges, no innovations, great... a car with a different body kit. Ask your selves this.... why are the Type Rs considered the collector cars of the future? Lets compare shall we...
1. very limited amount produced (2000 in all years produced with the DC2 chassis excluding JDM version)... just as the Fittapaldi edition 1 of 1
2. Limited options... Honda never offered the motor, the interior options, suspension components to the other line up of mass produced integra's. Oh the Fittapaldi... well let's see... I got my special seats, a badge, a steering wheel, and a body kit like no other (albeit an 80-early 90s looking one) but all my stuff is like every other DSM on the road... no special suspension, motor.
3. Media hype/innovation/trend setting... Honda has again captured the medias attention by outdoing a vehicle that was already popular... DSM yeah... didn't I read a post earlier some places don't even know who makes an Eclipse, let alone a Talon. Last time I read, there wasn't any huge hype or raves about any DSM other then a cheap go fast car with reliability problems.
I challenge anyone to find me one reason this car is a true collectible before I will admit being wrong on the subject. Find me a reason someone should drop a good chunk of money on a car that is gonna be just as reliable as any other DSM. Until then I stand by my argument, this car is worth little more then your above avg 1g outside the DSM community.

carwizard1 said:what does it matter if it's a collectable or not it's an awsome car! there's no point in arguing about it.

Coup D E'Tat said:Seriously. You ladies need to stop getting your panties all twisted.
Appreciate the car for what it is, not how much it's worth.

.cwbroncos said:The same could be said about the Honus Wagner baseball card that sold for 1.25 million dollars. Its just a peice of paper with a picture on it, but apparently somebody wanted it real bad. To me I could really care less though.

I'm not going to argue that this car isn't worth something... I'm just saying it isn't worth all the hype of collector status... atleast not for a while say when the car does hit the 25 year mark and magically DSMs were some kind of influence over the automotive market. If you guys look at most of the mass produced cars that become/became collectibles, they've all done their part in evolving the automotive culture. The 50-60 big block era set the whole hot rod movement and that's why they are considered collections. Mustangs and cameros will be collectibles because of the rivalry to out do each other on each generation. The Evo is gonna be a collectible because of it Ralli heritage and it's rivalry against the STi. The Z, another collectible because it marked what is considered the first Japanese sports car... all these cars have changed the way people view automobiles and for that they are considered collectible in nature... while it will take a while for any DSM to gain that status... this car will definately stand out amongst the crowd for being different but to say this car is a fortune of wealth on wheels is ludacris, at least at this time. If anything your paying for the heritage of the name... and I'm pretty sure if any of you guys were to see this car on say some rice board or on the street you would be thinking that this car was nothing more then your avg APC project and you were ashamed to have it share the same sheet metal. While I'm not saying this car is rice or again as I said worthless... this car is to me and I'm sure to most other enthusiast of automobiles just a car with a one off body kit. While I applaude him for having something rare... I will not bow down to say this car is a treasure of any sort amongst the automotive world... but merely the community in which it resides.
turbolaserAWDrs said:not to be off topic, but who the hell is honus wagner, and why was the card worth 1.25 mil? Even if it was the ONLY card in existance...for a player I've never heard of, NOTHING is worth that much...
SUPER SWEET" Collectible-ness this car has would be...GhostSpooLrTK said:lets face is Dale Earnhardt was mucho famous and hes dead, Ive never heard of that Emo-guy before tonight and from what ive read hes still alive right?
3. It was designed and owned by the Emo F guy or whatever his name was
I dont think the Fiparelli guy is that huge, so I cant imagine it being worth an outstanding amount of money.........
!!!!!!!!!!! you don't know who Emerson Fitipaldi is??? err... i mean Emo Fiparelli??
laserspeeddemon said:oh great, internet wonder!!! I think its time you get your certicate in car collection since you are the expert! Think about what makes a car or any other item for that matter, a collectable item.
1793 penny is the rarest coin, being only 5 pressed and only 4 are known existing at this time (5th coin is missing). A collectable because of its rarity. Vaule $275,000.
The United States 1c Z grill, the hardest stamp to find. The rarest stamp in the US, a single stamp was sold for $935,000.
Ferrari FX, the prize of all exotic collectables.... ok who are we kidding its a Ferrari, and its their rarest car. A car that was specially custom made for some Sultan in an Arab nation. Value is over $2,000,000 (estmatied).
Minus that car, the single goal of ever automobile collector is to get a one of a kind car, a prototype, a special edtion that never came out. One common thing in all these is rarity. For example, 1964 GM Runabout, 1948 Davis, 1959 Cadillac Cyclone concept car. 1958 Mercury Olympian, 1971 Chevrolet Astro III.... dude I could go on.
This may not be worth money now, but belive me it will be in the future.
2fast2furious said:You can't compare this vehicle to a concept, because in actuallity, the car was produced .

2fast2furious said:This DSM has no historic value beyond the name
GhostSpooLrTK said:Dont like the wing really, the front bumper is kinda cool, but the Leather Seats dont really fit the car, looks kinda ugly...

Listens to Dashboard Confessional all the time??
2fast2furious said:So next your gonna tell me the Honda Accord special edition is a collectible? It's rare edition model also, only offered in one model year in each generation released. The difference between the coins and the stamps and the baseball card is the history that came with those. This DSM has no historic value beyond the name that it sports, it has done nothing for the automotive world, it is fools gold, any car enthusiast knows it's worth a wee bit more then the DSM you drive on a daily basis. You can't compare this vehicle to a concept, because in actuallity, the car was produced, minus the different bumpers... you need to learn to make comparisons with apples to apples...because the fruit salad you just brought to the table does little to back up your argument on what makes this car a collectible.
