what is this "shootout"? where is it?

The DSM shootout is an annual gathering of DSM's from all over the country. It takes place around august at the Norwalk Raceway in Norwalk Ohio. Originally a celebration of DSM"s it's pretty much a celebration of all things 4G63. You'll see DSM's, Galant VR-4's, Evo's, Starions with a 4G63 transplant, deuce coupes witha 4G63 (I can go on and on like Bubba when he was talking to Forrest about shrimp). Your car will be an attraction at this event.

Buschur Racing organizes this event, so check their website for more info. Your car would be all the more reason for me to make the trek to Norwalk next summer.

As far as mods go, if you do feel the need to modify this car, do whatever mod you can that will still allow you to return the car back to it's stock condition. That's probably the best way to go. It won't put you in the 11-sec zone, but then again, I doubt you'll be taking this car to the dragstrip and I for one won't have a coniption fit if you leave it as is.

AND WE NEED MORE PICS!!!!!!

Idk if my dad is willing to trailer my car all the way up there with me... unless i can talk to buscher and see if there is a way i could have like a spot inside or something

Very nice car indeed. Im actually not too crazy about the body mods on it, but it is a sweet car nonetheless. Being that this car is one for the records I wish we really could get at least a dozen pics or so in total. I for one want to save whatever pics I get of your car.

BTW.. I would agree on driving the car sparingly and not modding it.

Talk your dad into taking that car up to Ohio. Do whatever you have to so you can get that thing on a trailer. Everybody who goes to the Shootout will tell you that they had a blast. Everybody who doesn't go to the Shootout will tell you that they're busy kicking themselves 'till next year for not going.

Here are some pictures that were taken from last year's Shootout, if you need any more convincing.

Whatever man... go try and find any "rare" car collector and ask them how much they are willing to pay for this vehicle? Guaranteed this car would not bring in more then 10,000, especially without a Fittapaldi signature of some sort. First off, what makes a collector car is usually being that it was some trend setting vehicle of some sort... just because a car company makes a limited edition vehicle of a mass produced car and decides not to sell it, doesn't make it a collectible. This car is nothing more then any other eagle talon on the street with a particular badge and a one off body kit... It doesn't have any more power, or innovations that weren't offered, other then a body kit. Although the car looks like it's in great shape, I couldn't name one person who would care about it or see it worth any more then any other street driven DSM outside of the DSM community. Now if this vehicle was a concept vehicle, which never would be allowed on the streets anyway, then you could say it was a collectible.

uhh only a few mustang fastbacks were made and in GC are worth quite abit...you dont really know what your talking about. your here because u joined the racing scene by watching the movie your name happens to be and have no gallery photos or any mods written up. please go away. id love to have that car. its a one of a kind no matter how you look at it. and of course no one outside the DSM comm. would be interested in it. same as people outside a dodge dart comm. wouldnt really want a rare dart because they just dont like or know about the car...whereas a DSMer or dart lover would pay a very high amount to get what they want just as cwbroncos said. YOU= :thumbdown

man so many people are talking shit

just be happy that the car exists, and that the owner has enough interest to come here.

i think its awesome as can be, the rear bumper and wing really make it look different. you could probably sell that badboy for a good price to a crazy dsm guru, pick up a regular 1g awd talon, and mod it enough to have it destroy anything on the road. :thumb:

that way too you wont be facing the idiocy of giant suvs and trucks on the highway that WILL eventually crash in to your collector car. btw, have you gotten collector car insurance? its a bit cheaper from what i hear.

Quit tellin this guy to sell his car
And who gives a fuk how much someone will pay for the car. He obviously wants to keep it. Jelousy is so unbecoming of some of you little fuks.

It's not jealousy on my end, It's concern that one of the rare collector cars which he owns might have a chance to get driven into the ground.

What would you say if you were a member of one of the biggest f-body message boards, and a 16 year old came on there and announced that his dad gave him a mint condition COPO camaro as a 16th bday present. LOL :p

Man if I had gobs of money leaking out my butt I would pay 50,000 or more for that car.
It looks nice, I like it so much more than any 1g I have seen.
I wouldnt worry about people stealing the looks. I think it would be awsome to see more cars in that style. Now this is just personal opinon but I don't think it would devalueate your car at all. You would still have the only one origonal. If any thing it would just raise awareness that thiss car is out there and how beautiful it is. If I had a 1g I would now know exactly how I wanted it to look when I was done.
Nice car man.

That's interesting that they routed the cruise control differently. Can you post a pic or 2 of the rear end? It looks like the bumper was made flush to the back. I'd like to see how that looks.

actually that's just your standard 1990 cruise control setup scott. nothing out of the ordinary there. you can just barely see the cruise box on the left of the photo of the engine bay.

Ok, it is on a 93 though ;) I still want to see the back end of the car :D

Duh, I don't know what the hell I was thinking about it being a 93. I guess it's cause I'm a noob  :shhh:

heres one from the other side

the more i look at it the more it looks like a modified 92-94 eclipse bumper with a set of naca ducts molded into the side and of course the little chin spoiler doobers. minus the front lips, i think i could easily copy at least the duct part of it all, but the lips would be tough. j/k though, of course i wouldn't.
