It's like having an autographed michael jordan rookie card. Basketball cards are meant to be traded and handled and all, but would you trade/handle your autographed jordan rookie card? probably not. It's the same way with cars. Some people collect them for their rarity, not to drive them.

Could not have said it better myself - well put :thumb:

Needless to say, this car shouldn't be driven, and of course not by a 16 year old nonetheless. No offense meant towards the owner, but the percentage of 16 year olds that wreck their car is VERY high.

First whats the little thing above the intake mani. it looks like something to hook and amp cable up with.

anyway, i wouldn't mod it or anything, and rarly drive it, because like somone posted above, what if you got in an accident or it was stolen or something stupid happend like it got keyed or something, anything like that would just set you off, and it would ruin the originality of it. If there's only one take care of it and don't mess it up.
Very very nice car BTW ;)

yea the more i look at that pic i noticed that piece is definitely not something available in 1990 and on top of that it's been mounted to the firewall with screws and is covering up the vin sticker thing. :barf:

just a stab in the dark, but that "box" in front of the sticker looks like a fuse holder, like hes got some sort of stereo installed

sell the car to some loaded DSM'er or jay leno, someone that can afford to take care of it.

To the person who mentioned the difference between the speedo cluster 140/145MPH difference, I believe that's 1990 thing.
IIRC, my 90 TSi AWD had 145MPH, and my 92 has 140MPH.
my 93 has 145

about the fuse box and everything... the stock speakers in this car were totally blown and absolutly no noise was able to come out of them... i had to replace it... I will move the fuse box so it doesnt cover the sticker... i got mad at the circuit city guy when i saw he put it right there

Jesus.

Just sell the car to Buschur or someone who will respect it and not let some goon at circuit city work on it.

why are people on here telling him to mod his car? for one, it's a one of a kind car. like others have been saying, why not buy another 1g and mod that instead of modding this only existing car and devalue the precious thing?

p.s. pinknuggit, michael jordan rookie cards were never autographed by him from the factory. so therefore if the card was autographed, wouldn't the value decrease? so wat if i had this carlos boozer rookie card that i had him sign a few months back, would the price go up 10X from its original value? i highly doubt it.

No, there is no set value for having a card autographed, but It's all about how much someone is willing to pay for it. It's not the fact that it's autographed, it's the rarity of it. Why do people autograph anything anyways? Because it's a way for collectors to have something truly unique. Go to your local card store and ask the guy how much a jordan rookie would go for. Then ask him how much an autographed rookie will go for.

the car already has lost some value, because even if you take that fusebox off, there are going to be holes right there where everyone can see them.

OMG you dont even deserve to own this car, sorry.

Dude he is obviously new to DSM's. Not everyone knows what the shootout is.

Settle down.

I'm sorry to say, I don't think that car would be worth more then a thousand or more then the regular 1gs you can pick up anywhere. How can there be any type of value placed on this car to other then a DSMr? It's got a vin like everyone else, the only thing is that it has a body kit that was never offered to anyone. If anything you could probably make money selling it back to Chrysler/Mitsubishi for a museum but I doubt anyone would pay more then 5K for it.

This is similar to old people winning the lottery. We are enthusiasts here and seeing a car such as this fall into the hands of an impartial owner is painful, you have to expect SOME backlash. Oh well, have fun with it.

Obviously you're not very familiar with the collector car scene. It's not all fast and furious just cause it's an import.

You guys are thinking that I am some 16 year old that cant wait to crash this car and destroy it... Obviously thats the last thing anyone wants to do... My dad collects cars and that is why he bought this car, becuase it is the only one in the world. Right now he has a '56 chevy bellaire, '69 camaro, and a 1970 dodge hemi challenger raced by Dick Landy that is sitting in the NHRA pomona raceway museum. My dad knows about collecting cars and if he sees that i might beat the shit out of this car, hes going to take it away in a second. he said if i get one ticket he will take it away. He knows this car is valuable and is a collector because that is the main reason he bought it.

Whatever man... go try and find any "rare" car collector and ask them how much they are willing to pay for this vehicle? Guaranteed this car would not bring in more then 10,000, especially without a Fittapaldi signature of some sort. First off, what makes a collector car is usually being that it was some trend setting vehicle of some sort... just because a car company makes a limited edition vehicle of a mass produced car and decides not to sell it, doesn't make it a collectible. This car is nothing more then any other eagle talon on the street with a particular badge and a one off body kit... It doesn't have any more power, or innovations that weren't offered, other then a body kit. Although the car looks like it's in great shape, I couldn't name one person who would care about it or see it worth any more then any other street driven DSM outside of the DSM community. Now if this vehicle was a concept vehicle, which never would be allowed on the streets anyway, then you could say it was a collectible.

how about this for a signature... the first title was signed by Em fittipaldi himself... and we still have that title, i would classify that as a pretty good signature...

All it takes is one person willing to pay 8 or 9K for it, and that'd be the selling price of the car, regardless of how much it's worth to an average Joe Schmoe.

It's a cool car to most of us... hell, a 1G with that few miles is crazy impressive nowadays. It's worth money. Stop being jealous assholes and get over it.

Nice car, man!

This crap is starting again... chill, people. Enjoy the car for what it is - stop bickering over it. FittipaldiTalon is obviously a lucky guy - let's not let this get out of hand, ok?

I for one think a beater Talon is in order just to be able to enjoy the fun :) One to pamper, and one to get all the best a DSM has to offer

Actually.. it would.

Well seriously guys, lets not make L2R lock this again. But what you should do is

SHOW US SOME MORE PICS!!!!!!!

A car is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. That being said I've seen mint condition 1g with low miles go for a little more then 8k. I'm sure someone would be willing to pay far more for it.

And give the kid a chance. He can still learn the ways of the DSM :p
