what oil weight should i use?

i know not to use synthetic till my 3000 mile change

any brands to use/avoid?

i just used a good/trusted brand, valvoline convential, and had no problems but theres also certain "break in" oils like Brad Penn break in oil and royal purple break in. but in my opinion just a good conventional oil

I started out on straight 30 weight non detergent for the first 3 oil changes, and then swapped over to 10w30.

People may not agree with me but i used Penzoil 5w-30.. And it worked fine for me..

Also I hear good things about Royal Purple.

Used quaker stated non synthetic 10w30 for 500, 1500, and 3000 mile marks, then switched to synthetic. Not sure how it effected the break-in, but it hasn't blown up yet.
