Eagle crank and rods are clearly marked. The block has an idenfication plate on the back as well that should clearly indicate whether it is a 4G63 or 64.

Can't help you on whether or not you're getting a stroker or not.

I assume you've already got a 6 bolt head?

get me a pic of the timing belt side, I can't promise I will be able to tell, but it will give me a better idea.

IIRC I think the 2.4 had individual main caps. This may be the 6 bolt I am thinking of......

Yes i have a nice 6bolt head already. I really just need to know if it will work on this shortblock or not .

The part number on the crank you need to see is right beside the eagle logo... You can look the crank up and see if it's a 100mm crank or not.

You can use the crank in either a 4g63 or 4g64. The stroke is the same either way.

And yes, you can use a 6-bolt head. I'm sure you know exactly what you need to make everything work.

So from the pics would you say this is a 4g63 block or 4g64 ?

It is a 4g63 7 bolt block. I forget which years came with the cradle.
Im sure all 7 bolt 4g63/64s came with girdles. If it is a 4g64 it should be stamped on the side of the block close to the water pump outlet. That said i agree with nuclearr, thats a 4g63 block. 4g64s have more oil drain holes drilled into the block

Heres a pic from my build awhile ago. this is from a 7 bolt 4g64 out of a 1999 eclipse spyder gs. Its stamped by the oil filter housing/water pump outlet.
