Hey guys,
my shortblock is in bad bad shape (sitting outside without oilpan or cylinderhead on it for 2 years). I was at a machine shop and they gave me an estimate. For $400 they will do all the prep work to get it bored 0.04 over for my wiseco stroker pistons and get it decked. However if i do that I will have to buy at least 2 new oil squirter's since two where broken off.
So now if found a machineshop online that does 4g63t blocks and i was told they will to all the prep work (boring, honing, cleaning, decking surface, and linebore the mains and put in ARP studs) for about $500 including the shortblock.
Now my question is: If i work a deal with them should i send them the pistons that i already have and have them fit them or should they not need them? I wasn't sure if it was a good idea to just have them bore the block out to 0.04 (1mm over) and just expect the wiseco pistons to fit in right.
So please let me know what you guys think :thumb:

Just more info:
the link on ebay is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GEN-...33613QQitemZ7983740811QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWD1V
I talked to them and was told they would do a 4g63t for me for the same price. This will save me the time and money to go out and hunt for arp studs and 2 new oilsquirters as well
looking at some of the questions that people have asked them before they should be able to machine the cylinders with the right proper piston to wall clearance if i give them all the needed information which im sure i can find on the wiseco website or maybe the paperwork that came with it and might not even need to send them there

They need the pistons and the information should be in the paper work that you recieved with the pistons. I personally don't know if I would trust their machine work but thats up to you.

Just block off the oil ports. The squirters are unnecessary when using forged internals.

See i have heard the same thing about blocking them off... however i asked buschurracing and some other websites that build dsm motors and they all adviced me to keep them since this still is my daily driver and will see alot of street use "the fast lane will be its feeding ground :thumb: "

I have had Buschur built shortblocks that did not have oil squirters in them back when my car still was driven on the street. There were never any issues. The reason was that both cores were NA blocks which don't contain the squiters from the factory. In an ideal scenario, it might be slightly benificial to have them but my experience showed me that it didn't matter.
