I just ordered the oil return line kit from extreme psi and Ive been reading that most people have trouble getting them to seal properly is thier any tricks I should do ?
 
Most people that have problems with them leaking aren't installing them right. The most common spot to leak is where the line bolts to the oil pan. You need a gasket, the correct bolts, and crush washers on those bolts. Most people will install the wrong bolts, or not use the crush washers. As for the gasket, a good coating with copper spray will help out a lot.
 
Thanks one of my buddys was telling me to use RTV but im def going to pick the copper spray up. The stock oil return line on my car now is leaking pretty good I wonder if it ever got put back on with the crush washers.
 
I worked out the mystery about the crush washers on my own, which sucked. When I bought my engine it was in multiple boxes, so it took me a few tries to realize the head of the bolt was the only thing stopping the oil that slips between the threads. Slotted lock washers are full of absolute fail in this instance.
 
You only need 2. If you order from JNZ, they sell them in pairs. If you order from the stealership, they sell them individually. I don't know about STM as I went through JNZ. They were cheap (.39/pair) so I ordered extra. I think I was quoted almost $1 at the stealership for just 1 washer.

Make sure that you have the right bolts also. A standard hex head bolt or a bolt with a split lock washer will not work. It had to be a flange head bolt. This is a bolt with a flat round surface under the area where the socket fits.

What I ended up doing was using 2 bolts that I threaded in to the oil pan from the INSIDE, and loctited them with the high strength stuff. Then I used an OEM gasket, the OEM crush washers, and then finished it off with a nylon lock nut. No leaks for this dude right here :D Now for my tranny on the other hand...that drips a bit LOL

Just picked up the bolts and the crush washers and some copper spray going to take it apart in the morning tomorrow and see how it goes.
