hey guys done some searching and cant find the exact answer so i figured id pop this up for a quick answer

just installed my 14b in my 2g and everything went well except the oil return line

I drilled a 2g oil return line to fit my 14b at the top like everyone says to do and im leaking oil now,

so my question is does a 1g oil return line just bolt right in to the turbo as well as the oil pan? i dont want to drill or make any modifications. Just would rather get two new gaskets and put the 4 bolts in and be done

thanks for the input

oh and are the gaskets for the turbo and the oil pan different for the 14b/t25 and the 1g/2g oil pan?

Yea, bolts right on to the turbo and the pan. Those things are a pain to seal sometimes. I would recommend gray RTV. Use fresh 1g return line gaskets on both ends.

ya ive heard some members complaining its impossible sometimes, ok great so ill grab two new 1g return line gaskets, one for each end, and a 1g return line as well as some rtv,, does the high temp red rtv work well? good idea seeing as that turbo gets super hot?

If you use OEM gaskets and new return pipe, then you don't need RVT, which the OEM gaskets are thick and has an O ring for better seal.

But you do need to use some Thread locker or Thread Sealer for the Bolts at the Oil Pan.

Most of the leaks at the oil pan are from the bolts and not from the gasket.

I'm dealing with the same issue (Except on a 16G) and I cannot get the stock oil return to bolt up... Its a few MM off.

May be drilling and modifying... Or looking to buy new.
