oil pump ticking after balance shaft removal

I need help quick, I just replaced my oil pump from ebay and also did the balance shaft removal. I packed it with grease and primed the pump before start, when i started it, theres a ticking/grinding coming from the oil pump sprocket so now i have to remove the front case again and buy a mitsu oem front case/oil pump. the car runs fine and oil pressure is up, its just the ticking/grinding noise. i checked all the belts for something catching but nothing. I need to know if i can just take the front case out without taking the pan, tcase? i know ill have to move around the pick up tube, just wondering if i can just crack the pan just enough to clear the pick up tube. thanks in advance

what kind of grease did you use to pack the pump?

i used moly lube to pack it

well when I rebuild motors I always use white lithuim grease, check to see what is in the grease. if it has any lead or graphite materials. it can scratch the metals. and many start up lub greases have that.

Oh and did you notice abnormal vibrations in the motor, due to the removal of the balance shaft?

The balance shaft removal in my opinion was the single most awesome thing ive done in my car. I didnt notice any other vibration at all! but the throttle response is awesome. i dont think its the grease, probably the gears that came with the pump are kaput to begine with.

BUDY YOUR NOT ALONE!!!!!!!!!! I to bought an oil pump from ebay and im having the same dang problem? Have you for sure figured out what is causing the clicking?
Anything you find out will really help me to .

One thing that i did to my ebay pump was i added a very small spacer between the gear and where it bolts on if i didnt than the pulley was wanting to touch the case.
