I did the balance shaft removal but forgot to put the bearing/spacer that goes behind the front shaft sprocket to seperate it from the front case. I replaced the seal though. Do I need to worry about a leak coming from here? The sprocket obviously doesn't rotate but does the bearing seal the area up at all? Don't really want to rip into it all again.

Well since the sprocket is now against the case hard (can't turn)since we tightened down the nut so much would it act as a seal since (like the bearing) it would be pulling the shaft up against the seal/gasket? Or can someone explain to me why the bearing seals it or causes an oil leak.

Thanks again for your help. I don't have the bearing here either.

No, the seal actually seals against that spacer, not the pulley itself. Just pull it apart and install the spacer, no other way around it.
