Oil pressure...

So, I've read posts about people who remove their balance shafts and complain about high oil pressure. My questions is... what is the problem with 90 psi? I've been working on small blocks and older engines where I'd be happy to have 80 psi on a performance engine. So what is the concern? Maybe the turbo? I'd imagine it is designed to take high pressures anyways... Maybe a newbie question I don't know.

Turbo is an issue for one and two the higher pressure can blow out seals.

high oil pressure is a HP loss

80 psi on a small block?? thats cosing you about 20hp or more
on a small block 10-20 psi at warm idle then 10 psi more per 1000 rpm up to 50 psi total will take you to 10k rpm ( Smokie Yunnick said on his SBC race engines he wants 7 psi at idle and 3 psi per 1000 RPM)

also too much oil pressure, and overload the drive and driven gear mesh and case metal flake and gear mesh failure, also the oil is moving to fast to abosrb heat from the bearing face and cam crank journals, wen this happens you can vaporize the oil and get the meteal to metal contact.
