I pulled my motor out tuesday night and put a head gasket, SMIM, and exhaust manifold on it along with some other small additions. I got the car running saturday night, and after a few pulls for a new tune, the oil filter shaft came loose and huge mess to say the least. I cleaned it off and re tightened the shaft into the housing and put a new filter on it. Figured something may have knocked it loose while motor was out. I take it out again. and the first time I lay into it, it pulls apart again. I have not took the shaft all the way out to inspect. I will do tomorrow. I was just wondering if anyone may have a suggestion of what could be going on here?

You can always use red loctite. Should keep it put.

I've tried red locktite, different oil cooler housings, and different shafts, they all come loose again, at different rates.. could oil pressure or vibrations be causing this? I never had a problem till I put a hg on and I put a smim on as well. confused.
