oil change question

I'm sure this has been brought up numerous amounts of times but i did a search and couldn't find any answers to what i was looking for.

I just got my car a little less then a month ago and it's time for an oil change. What oil do you guys recommend and how easy is it to change( I have an access to a hoist )

changing oil is not hard on any car. unless u have a 3" downpipe i cant see anyproblems at all, but u are N/T so that wont be. most people on here prefer mobil 1 synthetic, but if the car hasnt run on synthetic, prolly just stick with pennzoil, or royal purple, or amsoil those seem to be the favourites.

I'm not sure what the car has been running on before I bought it. Is it safe to switch at 40k miles to synthetic oil? What are the side effects that I can expect by switching?

Oh yea, and how many quarts should I buy

i wouldnt switch, synthetic oil floats and can break up engine crap and leave it foating around your motor, not good. contact the previous owner and see what he ran, because if it was on synthetic it is way to hard on the motor to switch back to mineral oils.

the stock filter, K&N, or mobil1 seem to be the most popular.

Select any oil thread, and you'll see there just isn't any difference anymore. Use whatever you like, and change it whenever you want.
