OEM Black Paint

I didnt really know where to put this so here it goes.... Does anyone else have a black eclipse and has the sun spots/faded areas on your car? Someone told me that they took there car to mitsubishi and they gave him a $1500 check. I was wondering if anyone else heard of such. Supposely the paint was a defect or something. Any feedback would be nice.

Mine has the sun spots around the car also, but it isnt covered under warranty at all. I also heard it was a defect, and that the area right above the windshield was a common area to be affected.

my car is also suffering from oxidation, if that is what you are referring to. Although, I do not know if it is due to a defect or because of the previous owner's lack of attention. Still, I've seen cars that have been more neglected than mine could have possibly been and the paint isn't as bad.

The paint on my roof is totally farked. The clear coat had a few oxidization spots in 2001, by the end of summer 2004 90% of the roof was oxidized. By the end of the spring the whole roof was oxidized, I washed my car really well in like June and the paint was comming off in chunks. Now my roof is basically just OEM primer. I find it rather odd that the paint everywhere else on the car is fine minus the normal dings and chips of a 10 year old car.
