well i have 2GB talon front bumper cover to be put on my 95 TSi. Only problem is they are totally different colors. I don't just want to paint over it and later have chips in the paint showing thru the other colors.

Is there any paint stripped that would strip the factory paint but not hurt the bumper itself?

i tried searching but didn't really come up with anything...

thanks

go to any auto store and they will have a bunch of different products to strip down your paint. air craft stripper, spray stripper, etc.

I actually just worked with the stuff, its really good at removing paint but keep in mind you WILL have to do alot of sanding to even out the paint again [the stuff is funky when you work with it, results are very splotchy ] ...

IMHO just get some 150 grit sand paper and go to town with it until the paint is blended well [no shiney spots]. then sand with 400 and hit it with primer. that's the way i'm going and am confident it'll last me.

all i have to say is if there is any spider cracks in the old paint then you beeter sand them out, other wise they will be into your new paint too... Also when sanding it down making sure there are no shinny spots, from old clear, cause the new paint aint going to stick.

Whooooa!! DO NOT USE striper on any plastic parts!! You will melt them. Striper is only designed for metal and wood. Tells you on the can/jug do not use on urethanes, plastics, vinyls, or fiberglass.
