Somethings up with my car... it is a 98 Spyder GS Turbo conversion.
I was picking up my brother and decided to give him a feel of it and floored it, pulled pretty good twice. The third time it pulled through 1st and 2nd and when it hit 3rd it lost power... now it idles around 500rpm with black smoke coming out of the exhaust.. i did a compression test and came back with 180psi for all cylinders, no coolant on any of the spark plugs or anything... so there's no fried valves/pistons or shredded head gasket... maybe BIG boost leak?

EDIT: Blown FMIC pipe :)

Sounds like a boost leak. Black smoke at idle is most likely because you're running rich. Do you have a wideband? If so what is your a/f ratio at idle? Do a BLT.

it was just a boost leak, i pulled the bumper off and it blew a FMIC pipe, honked it down and ready to go!
