No fluid in rear drivers brake line

I am replacing my rear calipers on my 97 awd talon and upon removing my rear drivers brake line, I noticed there was absolutely no fluid dripping out of it like the passenger side did when I removed it.

Is there possibly something blocking my metal brake line? Do I need to install the caliper and try to force whatever is in there out or what?

havent ran into this kind of problem before so all input would be greatly appreciated!

I would start by checking for any leaks down the lines to the master cylinder first to make sure your lines are not leaking or crimp in them anywhere that would block flow. You can try to bleed the lines till you get fluid out of them. Also check your master cylinder make sure its filled to the max line and keep checking it after each wheel you bleed. If you still can not get any fluid to the rear of the vehicle I would lean towards the master cylinder is bad or needs to be bled its possible the fluid has gotten to low and allowed the front to still work and the rear to get air in the lines if you have air in lines then you will need to bleed them really good. Also to make sure there not blocked open bleeder valve and when someone else is pushing brake pedal put your hand over the valve and feel for air being pushed if it is then you know there's nothing blocking your lines.

Sorry I re read your post when you removed your rear caliper you released the pressure on the rear brake system since its connected on same side of the master cylinder. your fronts are connected on same system and the rears are connect so if your rear fails the fronts are still good and if the fronts fail your rear will slow you down. I bet when you took the caliper all the way off and the line drained all your brake fluid out that side and from the passenger rear caliper so it will be dry till you put both sides back together and fill your master cylinder and bleed them really well should get fluid from both.

Well I cracked both rear hard lines first to kinda see if they would bleed a little just for the hell of it before i replaced both rear calipers. Thats when I noticed no fluid at all coming from the drivers rear side. And a drip at a time from the passenger rear.

I replaced the master cylinder about 3 months ago and everything has been just fine, the whole reason I was changing the calipers was because my old bleeder screws twisted off when I was trying to bleed the brakes after I changed the m/c. And the rear brakes were about the only maintenance I havent done to the car yet

Sounds like there's just not enough brake fluid in the master cylinder for the rear I would fill the master back up and put the rear back together and bleed them in the correct order the Passenger rear to drivers rear then passengers driver side then drivers side. You should be able to get fluid out of them if not then I would look for possible kinks in line leaks somewhere air in system something like that. I have not run into problems like this either. Should be straight forward put them on and bleed them is what I would think .

Alright I will be getting to this today hopefully! Just wanted to confirm that I should just put it all back together and try to bleed em, then if I still dont get anything ill dig deeper.

no problem bud glad to help. The other thing I thought about is something my teacher has done take the brake line off the master cylinder and use air hose to blow throw the lines. he did it to get all old fluid out of line but im sure you could use it to make sure there's nothing blocking them up if the putting together method does not work.

The brake pressure should be much greater than the air pressure of an air hose, but is the same basic principle.
