Is this true? David Buschur claims there is no difference. Thoughts?

Can't read that small... what's the address?
Or is it something from NABR that not everyone is allowed to see / you shouldn't be linking here anyway?

Sorry for the image quality guys. It seems that Tuner's won't let me enlarge the picture anymore. This is somthing I have permission to post, idk what you mean.

It is from David Buschur's Facebook. His text reads:

What do you need to know about Methanol? I've done quite a bit of Ethanol, same thing

So tuning for Ethanol is the same as tuning for Methanol? I'm confused:confused:

Lets say this. I generaly run upwards of 2 gallons of E-85 in my S-10, Its a NA Carb'd 4.3 built to the max, pushing upwards of 15* base timing with a total advance of 36* (mechanical, vacume advance distributor), with 10.8 compression. This is my DD atm. Talons getting more mods.

With the ehtanol based Fuel I have No problems with my carb. Then one day I decided against the 20 minute drive to the gas station with the E-85 and decided to run 4 bottles of pure methanol. the standard yellow bottle of HEET De-icer that you get at any auto store. Yes its 100% meth.
Not the red bottle mix of 50% meth and 50% glycol.
Anyways, after about 2 days of driving this stuff. My idle mixture circut in my carb clogged.. upon inspection. It had eaten away at the bare aluminum carb body.
Understand I have been running e-85 in this same setup for over a year now with absolutly NO problems at all (Being the tinkerer that I am, I'm in my carb ALOT! so i know the symptoms when I see it). Along with being 2 gallons of E-85 vs not even one gallon of pure meth..
The stuff is HIGHLY corrosive.
I knew it was corrosive just didnt think it was as bad as it actually is.

With a system built for pure alcohol. You wont have any problems. But for a DD. Donot try and run large amounts of pure meth.
You will have problems. The performance gains are just not worth it.

My 2cents.

The last thing i'd say is "there's no difference" while they may be similar there's a good amoutn of difference, especially in raw form, ethanol (when pure) can be consume...methanol cannot )unless you want to die that is)

but other than methanol disspating more heat i believe and needing more to make the same amount of evenrgy they are very similar in their traits as a fuel
