My son informed me last Friday that I have no brake lights. I know they were working the day before because my wife commented a couple bulbs were burned out. Well, today I replaced the bad bulbs, yet still have no brake lights. I verified that I DO have running lights and turn signals. I also verified that my cruise control dis-engages when the brake pedal is tapped (I assume this makes the stop switch good).

Now, the question I have is, could the stop switch still be bad? The wiring diagram seems to show that only one wire is involved with both cruise-control AND the brake lights. Am I reading it wrong? I know it can't be all the sockets or a ground, since they worked the day before and I still have running lights which use the same ground, now ALL (including center) brake lights do not function.

I am willing to swap out the stop switch, just don't wanna go in that direction if there is a better path.

Did you check the fuse? There is a seporate one for the brake lights. Also, there are 2 swtichs on the brake and clutch petals.

Brake has:
Cruise and brake lights

Yes, the fuse is good. So, there are two switches on the Brake pedal? I could only see the Stop switch and the clutch safety switch.

Yes the brake switch is actually 2 separate switches within the same unit - 1 (normally open) for brake, 1 (N.C.) for cruise. Did you actually pull out (not just look at) and test the brake 15A fuse #17 for continuity? Did you check for voltage on that fuse? If voltage there but not at the bulbs when pedal is pushed, the switch is bad.

Haven't had a chance to check the voltage, but the fuse has been swapped out, so fuse continuity is not in question. I will pull the fuse and check the voltages before work tomorrow afternoon.

Do you have a aftermarket stereo in your car? The light wire for the deck will cause your rear brake lights not to work if its grounding out. Had the problem in my GSX, everything else was working except the back lights.

I do, but it is sealed off. I had all rear lights except Brake lights.

I resolved it with two parts. The plug to the stop switch had a crack. I replaced it (that is a mother to do when you are 6'8", not much room for me to work), then had to replace three light sockets as they developed some corrosion that was too much, apparently.
