I have recently bought a 92 Laser RS from a friend that lost interest in it and it was half taken apart for a clutch replacement and timing belt when I got it. I have since got it back together and running.

My problem is the rear brake lights always stay on no matter what. I unplugged the sensor under the dash that is on brake pedal and tested it using a ohm meter it tests fine. I pulled the relay under the hood that said tail and the lights was still on. Only way to shut them off is unhook battery. Any ideas?

My brakes do the same thing. Started yesterday, neighbor said they where on. My problem is the switch under the dash is sticking, if I pull up on my brake pedal the lights shut off. I need to clean the switch the pedal lifts up on to shut off the lights, or put a shim their to close switch. I just unplugged at brake pedal for now until weekend to fix.

Not sure if this helps but

If yours stay on and that switch is working properly, and you pulled the fuse for the lights. Then sounds like you got a short and constant power going to them. Not too sure where to start from their sorry.

I just find it odd it didn't do this until the trans was taken out and also the steering wheel and pedal assembly was removed
