I have done some research and Im not coming up with much.
But from what I have read Nippon Racing Ltd. is not NPR.

What Im trying to find out is what kind of product Nippon Racing Ltd. produces, are they quality parts or not?

Any experience with them?

They have gasket kits for half the price of Mitsubishi on ebay.
I have a set of .030 Nippon Racing 2g pistons sitting right in front of me, are they worth building a stock motor with?

Anyone who has used their products please chime in.

Npr= Nippon Piston Ring company. As far as i know everything that is marketed with the nippon name is made by npr.

I'm not sure if they are the same company, but I, along with many others have used their pistons with no issues.

I've never used their gaskets, so hopefully someone else can chime in on those.

I wonder if NPR is the parent company of Nippon Racing Ltd.

Like SVO/SVT is to Ford, just a small company for the go fast people to get "drop in" parts from

Now, the 2g pistons infront of you, How do they differ from factory stockers? Skirt coating? better wrist pins? over sized valve reliefs?

I'm not sure how they compare to stock pistons because I haven't had my stock 2g pistons for years. I can take pictures and post them later, my iPhone won't allow me to so I'll have to use my camera. I do have a set of 1g pistons I can compare them to once I tear down a block I have.

The box the pistons came in does nit match or remotely resemble the box the NPR rings came in. That's what's making me believe they are different manufacturers.

Anyone use their gaskets?

I emailed a company on eBay that sells Nippon racing pistons to see if they are two different companies and this is the response I received.

"That is correct. They are 2 different companies in Japan. NPR is the best ring manufacturer in the world. They make all their rings in Japan and the USA. Their pistons are are made in China. Our pistons are Nippon Racing. Made in Japan to exceed Mitsubishi standards and come with a full warranty even though it is a performance product"

So according to this vendor they are in fact two different companies.

So for those of you who have used Nippon racing pistons (not NPR pistons), what are your experiences with them?
Also, has anyone used the Nippon racing gasket kit offered on eBay?

I used their msl head gasket on a stock 6 bolt w/ arp's. Ran 25psi on that setup with no issues. I'll probably buy one again for my next build.

Nippon racing has been out of business for several years now i think since 2003 ish.

As far as i know they were a rim making company basicly knock offs of rota wheels i have a set of there rims there actualy pretty good quality for there price if you can find them anymore.

NPR is not the same as nippon racing.
